By the end of 2009 what do you hope to have accomplished?
Solidifying myself a spot on the Championship tour.

What’s next for Coco? What should we be looking forward to?
The WCT! But what I’m really hoping for from this is to strengthen myself as a competitor/athlete and push my surfing to a higher level.

Whos your favorite crew to surf with?
I normally surf at home with my dad and brother, or my school friends Kalani, Makai, and Justin.

If I looked on your ipod right now what would I find?
Beyonce, T.I, John Mayor, Colbie Caillat, and Rihanna.

Who do you consider to be your biggest influence?
My family and friends. Each of them effect me in many ways if it’s giving me confidence, or me wanting to make them proud… I always have them to fall back on and influencing my way of living.

Out of your whole life what do you consider the highlight? The moment you are most proud of.
A memorable highlight that comes into mind would have to be winning the trials for the WCT at my home break- Sunset Beach, and going on to make Quarters and get triple crown Rookie of the year! Qualifying without really trying was a pretty amazing feeling.

If you werent a profesional surfer what do you think your occupation would be?
I really like Tennis, I don’t know if I could make it pro at this stage in my life but I really like the aspects of the sport- the girls are great athletes, get respect, and get to dress in cute outfits!

Was surfing your only sport growing up? What or who inspired you to start?
Growing up my family was pretty into dirt biking, at five I would go to the track every weekend. My Dad had no intention to make us surf. But, eventually my brother starting surfing and getting a lot of attention from my Dad and I think that triggered me to try- after trying I was obsessed and had my dad working hard keeping up! Haha!

What other sports do you do for fun?
I like playing tennis it’s the best feeling to have a good strong rally.

Quote you live by?
No nerves, just amp. Kelly Slater said it in the move Kelly Slater: Black and White. I actually should try living up to it a bit more because I have a tendency to get nervous, but than I think about Kelly and try and turn all my nerves into AMP!

What was it like growing up and being a surfer in Hawaii? And coming from such a well known surf family?
I was always around the contest scene (like the Triple Crown) when I was young hearing my Dad and Uncle Dereks name on the loud speaker. I didn’t know how big they really were until I started getting into the sport. Hawaii altogether is amazing especially the community I come from - within Sunset we have lots of good talent and support!

Did your dad make you drop into big bombs all the time??
Noo. Hes actually more scared for me than I am. He’s like lets just hang here and go get one after- I’m like come on Dad!!! I think it’s just the “Dad” in him. But sometimes he can be like “Aww come on pull-in!!” But nothing serious- he’s always joking making sure I’m safe and comfortable.

Snapper Rocks, Queensland Australia. It’s dreamy!

I’m a cereal addict!!

Favorite surf adventure? Who with?
Mexico on my Sweet Sixteen with Leilani, Steph, Rochelle, Megan, Melanie and a couple others on the Royal Pelagic! There is nooo better boat in the world!!!

If you could be any celebrity for a day who would it be... and why?
Beyonce- because I’ve always wanted dark hair, to sing amazingly, and have people look up to me!
