Coco Roadshow ist eine multinationale 11-köpfige Funk und Soulband aus dem Großraum Köln. Sie alle verbindet neben Freundschaft, die Liebe und Leidenschaft zur schwarzen Musik der 70er Jahre. Die Band präsentierte sich im Frühjahr 2010 erstmalig in neuer großer Besetzung mit 5 Bläsern, 3 Sängern, Percussion, 2 Gitarren, Percussion, Bass und Drums und sorgte seit dem in der regionalen und überregionalen Club Szene bei ihren Konzerten, vor stets ausgelassen feiernden und tanzenden Zuschauern mächtig für Furore. Bisheriger Höhepunkt dieses Jahres war der gemeinsame Auftritt mit Stefanie Heinzmann und Brixton Boogie beim „Soul Am See Open Air“ im August 2010. Coco Roadshow spielt ausschließlich eigene Stücke, die unüberhörbar vom Flair, Feeling und schwarzen Groove der Meister des Genres , wie James Brown, George Clinton oder auch Prince, geprägt sind. Durch zusätzliche Oldschool Hip Hop / Rap Einlagen kommen alle Freunde schwarzer, tanzbarer Musik auf ihre Kosten ! For the first few years the band was performing as an instrumental funk & crossover trio under various names and aliases , such as: The Reefer Men, Urgent Orange or Spacy Trichter.. They were already quite experienced musicians by this time and had played and performed with a lot of successful bands and on various tours. The name Coco Roadshow however came from a Dr. John / Night Tripper tune. The Roadshow..s band members come from six different nations: Macedonia, Turky, Spain, Guinea, Sweden and Germany. Coco Roadshow is only performing their very own songs and music which is strongly influenced by the Funk music of the late 60s and early 70s. Nevertheless you..ll find a strong Old School Hip Hop influence in some of their songs as well. With the actual line up, as a 11 piece funk band with 5 piece horn section and percussion, the Roadshow is rehearsing since October 2009 and is planning to do as many concerts as possible in 2010 and the next future.
