Arguably the country’s most innovative purveyors of original vocal music, the award-winning all-female vocal quintet Coco’s Lunch has been celebrating the sounds of their ARIA-nominated new album Blueprint in seasons & performances at Melbourne’s Telstra Dome, The Famous Spiegeltent, Queensland Performing Arts Centre, Port Fairy Folk Festival and the Adelaide Festival Centre. Drawing on the diverse talents of some of Australia's finest improvising vocalists, Coco's lunch is excited to be now working with two amazing women: Emma Gilmartin and Libby O'Donovan. This has given the group more flexibility, enabling them to meet the demands of their busy schedule.
Described as ‘a national treasure’, these women have carved a blueprint for honouring the earth and one another with the release of 5 original albums to critical acclaim. Coco’s Lunch take audiences on a sonic journey that is magical, spontaneous and disarmingly original. Their beautifully crafted songs have become an integral part of the fabric of original Australian vocal music, and their award-winning material is featured on many short films, compilations, anthologies and documentaries, as well as being performed by vocal groups and choirs worldwide.
With a double ARIA nomination in 2007 for Blueprint and Rat Trap Snap! (for children) Coco’s Lunch also scooped the 2003 Contemporary A Cappella awards in the USA with Best Folk/World Song & Runner-Up Best Folk/World Album. Coco’s Lunch have won the hearts of audiences throughout Australia, Canada, Germany, Austria, Singapore, Taiwan, Laos Hong Kong & China, and their concert for Festival Vancouver at the University of British Columbia was recorded for repeat national broadcast by the Canadian Broadcasting Commission.

Hello, I'm doing an assesment at school on the incorporation and combination of traditional music in Coco's Lunch a cappella music. I was wondering if you could give me some insight how the, maybe, harmony or tonal qualities of indian, african or bulgarian music is used in your ensemble and compositions? It would be greatly appreciated : D Thanks!

Hey, hey. Ummm... aorry. You'll have to forgive me, I'd had a few drinks and could barely hear (plus I'm horrible with remembering people's names), I couldn't quite make out the name that was given to me (I recall an 'ee' sound to it), but I caught the Coco's Lunch part, so to the kind lady who came last night, much cheers! Sorry that you didn't actually get to see me and Ted perform, but hopefully next time. I'm not sure about Ted yet, but I'm at the least definitely playing again next monday if you can make it down, the support is much appreciated. Hope you had a good night either way and cheers once again for coming down!
