coda [cōd..a], n. 1. The closing section of a piece of music. 2. A grand finale, often accompanied by fireworks. 3. The end.
All good things have to end, and sadly Coda is no exception. After 6 months of the best parties in the whole wide world, Coda is over.
A few months back, we were bought out by a Manchester developer. The developer was friendly, enthusiastic, and keen for us to continue with our budding business. We'd been given contracts, discussed it over and over, and everything was looking good. We'd done the maths, and we were set for the future.
But this morning we received the news that the developer wanted us out. We were told by our brewery that he'd decided that he wanted an empty property. Obviously completely taken aback by this, we're all in shock here at Coda. Gutted really doesn't cover how we all feel, and we just can't believe it.
We'd just like to say a massive thankyou to everyone who's ever been involved, everyone who ever came to our club, and anyone who's been a part of Coda. It's been an incredible ride, and we're sad to see it end. We want everyone to help us celebrate the end of something pretty special, and we all hope to see you over the coming weeks, to come get pissed with us, and help the club go out with a bang.
So, it's finally here. The weekend to end all weekends.
Coda's very last event, the Beach Please Music Festival kicks off this afternoon.
We're firing the barbeque up at 4pm, we've got meaty treats, booze galore (including some very special COCKTAILS just for this weekend), plus 40 live acts & 25 DJs spread over 3 days of fun. So come down early and check out the sexy beach-themed decor. BEACHWEAR IS RECOMMENDED!
We're open from 2pm til 4am every day this weekend. So, come 4am Sunday night expect some emotional scenes as we lock the doors for the final time.
As you're all going to be out late every night, and drinking the last of our booze, we figured we best offer HANGOVER CURES on Saturday & Sunday morning. So, from 2pm - 4pm on Sat & Sun, everyone gets a FREE brew or fresh orange juice, and BACON BUTTIES will be BBQd for just £1.
Enjoy yourselves, and let's give this club the send off it deserves.
