Later bringing on Colin Bradley and Lee Haris for the Codename:Dustsucker album.
Influences
Restless? Hex is THE album to listen to at night. It allows thoughts to drift into your mind, and there is time to contemplate the day you've had. The album seems to build up to the centre and then lets you down. The climax is probably 'Fingerspit'. You can sense the frustration in this song, as it is trying to break out of the album. Each of the track's complement each other creating a landscape not unlike the cover art... a setting sun over a surreal landscape... you can almost feel this from the music.
Breathtaking.
Feeling tired? Why not go to bed and listen to this while you doze in and out of reality. An adventure through ambiance and serenity, Hex achieves exactly what it set out to do by creating a relaxing, warm mood that will drift you in and out of consciousness, slowly, without haste. From the opening track it is clear that Bark Psychosis are an elegant, developed band who know exactly what they want to create. Featuring unobtrusive vocals, an array of instruments and mysterious sounds, Hex is a wonderful listen when all you want is some peace and quiet.
Sounds Like
Bark Psychosis, creators of Post-Rock, and among the best in the genre. When the members were only about 14, they took from experimental innovators such as Sonic Youth and Joy Division, they soon created a revolution with their ambient soundscapes and textured rock, spawning countless bands of similar nature.
Like Hex, Dustsucker sounds utterly unique, eschewing even the broadest classification. Smitten with texture, space, and silence, a seamless blend of acoustic instrumentation and electronic processing on which its piecemeal compositions generate massive momentum within predominantly slothful tempos.
-Pitchfork review-
A guitar groans and signals the birth of a trumpet, slowly melting into gaseous synths and a whiff of melodica; it comes in two parts like The Isley Brothers through the looking glass.
Agonised, fearful, compelling, beautiful and measured with infinite precision and chaos, Codename:Dustsucker is close to miraculous.
-Stylus Magazine-
Not an official page, just an amazed fan trying to get the band the attention they are entitled.
Bark Psychosis emerged in 1989 in the London avant-rock scene with an electronic, jazz, and ambient approach.
The band was originally formed in 1986 by Graham Sutton and John Ling. Two years later recruited drummer Mark Simnett and they began to put together some gigs in low profile venues. Then in 1992 Dan Gish joined the band, adding a keyboard taste to the mix.
Around 1994 was the year when the members were leaving the group and Sutton began his boymerang drum and bass project, which led to to the band's standstill throughout the mid ninety's. (besides "Independency" and "Game Over" in 97')
Then in 1999, Sutton reunited with the band and started putting together music that would later be put out in 2004, one of their most recent cds "Codename:Dustsucker". Along with Bark Psychosis, Graham Sutton has his side projects, promoting and producing other various artists. Maybe in another 5 years we will see yet another amazing album from the band.

Our new album "Herbarium" is
out now on CdBaby (MP3 so far, physical CD is on its way).
Diverse palette of styles (post-rock,
ambient, electronica, trip-hop, with elements of noise, dub,
neoclassic and free improvisation), united by cinematic, slightly
pensive mood.
«Herbarium» is called so
because of heterogeneity of «songs», which can be
compared to miscellaneous leaves in the album, still being belonged
to the family of trees. Trying to avoid non-alive metaphors here,
only thought of diversity and warm and innermost feeling that
herbarium is capable to conjure up. «... This leaf I picked up
in the park where I met her, and this - I sat by the river,
contemplating...». So tracks were created – one was captured
in some magic jam, another – recorded layer by layer and
meticulously mixed then, next – cut from previous sessions and so
on.
All compositions are united by Poostosh
sense of music – mostly pensive, spatial, tender and experimental.
There's a lot of soul and charisma in every leaf... So please let
your soul look over our HERBARIUM.
