Original MOTHERS DAY PROCLAMATION BY JULIA WARD HOWE
Arise, then, women of this day! Arise all women who have hearts,
whether our baptism be that of water or of fears!
Say firmly: "We will not have great questions decided by
irrelevant agencies. Our husbands shall not come to us, reeking
with carnage, for caresses and applause. Our sons shall not be
taken from us to unlearn all that we have been able to teach
them of charity, mercy and patience.
We women of one country will be too tender of those of another
country to allow our sons to be trained to injure theirs. From
the bosom of the devastated earth a voice goes up with our own.
It says "Disarm, Disarm! The sword of murder is not the balance
of justice."
Blood does not wipe our dishonor nor violence indicate possession.
As men have often forsaken the plow and the anvil at the summons
of war, let women now leave all that may be left of home for a
great and earnest day of counsel. Let them meet first, as women,
to bewail and commemorate the dead.
Let them then solemnly take counsel with each other as to the
means whereby the great human family can live in peace, each
bearing after their own time the sacred impress, not of Caesar,
but of God.
In the name of womanhood and of humanity, I earnestly ask that a
general congress of women without limit of nationality may be
appointed and held at some place deemed most convenient and at
the earliest period consistent with its objects, to promote the
alliance of the different nationalities, the amicable settlement
of international questions, the great and general interests of
peace.

Really are you satisfied with Obama?. What happened to the liberal candidate you all forced down our throats. As far as Gay Rights Hillary Clinton has done more for Gay people than President Obama. In one action Secretary of State Clinton gave all employees of Americas ambassadores and their spouses equal benefits regardless of their sexual orientation. That one action blows away ALL of the speeches Obama has ever made about Gay Rights. Obama is All Talk About Gay Rights. Hillary Clinton Got Things Done. Secretary of State Clinton did everything her position legally allowed her to do to help Gay people. President Obama can get rid of 'Don't Ask. Don't Tell with an executive order but he refuses to do it. That is a legal fact. So are you aggressive supporters of Obama satisfied? Because you Obama people were all about hating Hillary during the election. I still have several womyn hate messages in my inbox from Obama supporters. Where are you all now? Do you Obama people even read what your precious 'prophet of God' is actually doing? That's right I was told by MANY Obama supporters that his name meant he was a prophet of god. Even Bill Clinton who was president when 'Don't Ask Don't Tell was made legal has stated he is in support of Gay marriage. Everyone except that great bastion of 'hope' Barack Hussein Mohammad Obama seems to be coming around to logical thinking about Gay rights. I am 48 years old. I have raised two grown children. My sons are men now. I have had a blessed life. I have had two partners, both of them wonderful people. During my short life the world as I see it has gotten worse and worse. Vaccinations gave my neice Autism. Aspertame gave my sister M. S. My brother has AIDS. Poisons have directly affected my personal life. Poisons that were introduced into the world by doctors and corporate executives. There is a belief system in the upper crust of the worlds population that everyone else deserves to die. The rich elite of every society get together and do ceremonies aimed at killing others. The rich elite believe that they are spiritually blessed because they have money. It is a prevailing sickness in economically rich people. Money in very large amounts causes people to isolate them selves. Isolation can cause pathological behavior. Pathological personality traits cause people not to feel. Not feeling and warped beliefs are dangerous. It is easy to rationalize murder if you really believe that you are "chosen" because you are extremely rich. Music and movies now have fallen to the point of accepting disrespect as respect because it sells. Using words like bitch, or whore, or nigger as if these words represent anything else but an insult. I just had a long discourse with a womyn in New York city, who argued that the word bitch is empowering to womyn. She says it means the womyn is not submissive, she's stong ect. I disagree. If the womyn is strong she's strong, period, if she's weak she's weak, period. You can interrupt a term in any way you want, but it will still be from your head space. Bitch is a female dog. I fail to see how this empowers womyn. I feel that Feminism is stepping backwards in this generation. The younger womyn are so blasted with male dominated language that they don't even recognize an insult when it is obvious. Controlling people is easily done when they volunteer. virginia
I recently enjoyed a Memorial Day weekend 2,100 mile solo road trip on my motorcycle. I covered a lot of ground and saw many beautiful breath-taking sights: Yosemite, Lake Tahoe, Crater Lake, & 350miles of Oregon Hwy 101 Pacific Ocean Shoreline. (And many destinations in between)
On my journey I also found the solace to peacefully commune in my spirit with my Maker. You might say I experienced an epiphany. This was the message I received- a recipe for personal peace:
1.) Each day make things right in every way to the best of your ability. Next day: repeat again.
2.) Start each day anew with a fresh start leaving the past behind. Next day: repeat again.
3.) Never allow the past to drag you down with guilt and defeat- it’s over and a done deal. It is now a brand new day. Next day: repeat again.
4.) One day at a time make the best of that single day- lived to the fullest. Next day: repeat again.
5.) Live the day as if it is your first and your last- imagining that it could be. Next day: repeat again.
6.) Do the best with what you have now for that day. You are never expected more than what you are asked or can do for that one day. Next day: repeat again.
7.) Do what you feel is right for that day to the best of your knowledge and ability. If you have no direction as to what that might be, the day is yours to make of it what you will- and have fun doing it! Next day: repeat again.
If there is light in the soul, There will be beauty in the person. If there is beauty in the person, There will be harmony in the house. If there is harmony in the house, There will be order in the nation. If there is order in the nation, There will be peace in the world. (Chinese Proverb)
