Sunday, September 07, 2008, 4:20:59 PM my 1st time @ Disc Golf then I decided to start this site so others like myself could have one place to go where they could learn more about how to play the game. It's been a blast and has helped me meet a ton of really great people who are as addicted to disc golf as I am. This is a great if not the best area for disc golf.

The site of the 2005 & 2009 state champion-ships, Codorus Disc Golf is rated one of the most challenging courses in Pennsylvania with 54 Baskets & 9 Mini. The courses are just inside of the entrance to the Marina Day Use Area and affords Grassy areas dotted with an abundance of trees and foliage. Scenic overlook of park and views of the lake & coves. Codorus has mixed paved & rubber tees and are spread through fields and forests. On the west side of Marina Road is the mini disc golf course In an enchanted forest under a canopy of Blue Spruce. 1st official Mini DGC in a U.S. public park.
Challenging and variety - power, accuracy and finesse are needed.
RED= 18 - RED CC= 9 - Blue= 18 - Blue X= 9 - Mini= 9
This Page is for having fun and to give more recognition to the park and keeping it clean. We have Pic's & Videos
During the summer, golf discs can be purchased at the marina concession building.
Disc golf has been a formalized sport since the 1970s. Much like regular golf, the object is to complete each hole of the course in as few strokes as possible. A golf disc or Frisbee is thrown from the tee toward a target. One point is counted each time a throw is made. As a player progresses down the fairway, each shot is made by placing the lead foot on the spot the disc landed. The hole is completed by having the disc in the basket.
Description about the park- Codorus State Park consists of 3,326 acres in south central Pennsylvania. Lake Marburg is a 1,275-acre lake within the park that offers 26 miles of shoreline. The forests of Codorus stand in tall contrast to the surrounding farmlands.
Outdoor recreation opportunities include disc golf, observing waterfowl and warblers migrations, tent and RV camping, group camping, fishing for warm water catches in Lake Marburg and hunting on approximately 2,900 acres of the parkland. There is a large swimming pool, including a wading pool, and an entire network of trails for hikers, mountain bikers and horseback riders. There are also plenty of picnic tables and 2 picnic shelters for larger groups.
The Allied Veterans Council of Hanover maintain a Veterans Memorial Grounds within the confines of the park. Family members who wish to honor their loved ones who honorably served in America's Armed Services can do so by purchasing and planting a tree on the grounds. The
memorial itself is said to be the first of it's kind to be placed in a State Park in Pennsylvania.
The park provides environmental education programs from April to November which include ecological and historical walks, audio visual presentations, campfire talks, youth and school programs. Nature trails and a bird viewing station are also available.
There are mooring spaces which may be rented from April 1 to October 31. There are designed to hold canoes, sailboats and motorboats up to 24 feet long. There are 7 boat launches scattered around the lake and 2 concessions which offer pontoon boats, rowboats, canoes, paddleboats and motorboats for rent.
Climate - Pennsylvania generally has a moist climate with cold winters and warm summers. The Codorus State Park area has cold winter months with temperatures averaging above 28 degrees Fahrenheit (above -2 degrees Celsius). The area's average summer temperatures range above 82 degrees Fahrenheit (23 Celsius).
Location - Codorus State Park is located in the southwest corner of York County approximately 3 miles southeast of Hanover, Pennsylvania along PA Route 216.
