Even though a move to Denver in late August of 2007 brought many changes to the life of Cody Crump, he seemed to settle in quite well. Placing second in three consecutive Battle Of The Bands as a solo act, performing live radio programs on KRFC and KVNF, being featured on radio programs such as “The Colorado Wave” and Break Thru Radio’s “All Access”, and playing shows in and out-of-state including the ‘South Park Music Tour” in Fairplay, CO and “Hyperactive Music Festival” in Albuquerque, NM, Cody kept quite busy. All the while he has been working on two follow-up albums to 2007’s “The First Movement”. If the trends continue as they have for the young singer/songwriter, then you should be hearing much more from him very soon.

"One of the last places you'd expect atmospheric and uplifting music to emerge would be Montrose, Colorado — but that's where Cody Crump resided until a recent move to Denver. The First Movement is his debut solo release. As a member of post-rock band Edison Gale, Crump honed his ear for hypnotic soundscapes. But rather than opt for the moody, melancholy music of his old band, ..ment Crump explores artistically ambitious pop. For a guy who just graduated from high school, he exhibits surprising creative and emotional maturity on songs such as "Take My Hand," offering the kind of winsome, thoughtful perspective you'd expect from someone who's seen a good deal more of the world. Fans of Jeff Buckley will appreciate the way Crump is able to infuse each song with dark intensity without being overbearing. While many people his age aim to make utterly derivative emo pap, Cody Crump is moving assuredly into the future."- Tom Murphy (Westword)

"Hailing from the hills of Montrose, CO, this singer-songwriter is more than a singer-songwriter. How many do you know that tote a keyboard around with them aside from an acoustic guitar? Exactly. His young voice sings as if he has seen all the life's travails that has been thrown his way, without sounding too preachy. I would like to think of his voice sounding as pristine as the first morning snow. Le sigh. You can buy his music here and check him out here."- Julio Enriquez (Operator of the music blog, Cause=Time)

Hey! I put some new tunes up today, and I also re-recorded some old ones. If you got a sec, check them out. I'd love to know what you think. All the best, Johnny.
lol cool dude!! i'm doing alright just trying to book some shows in good old cruces. how about you did you go to Durango? i really wanted to go. i just didn't have any new worthwhile recordings ready yet. kinda blows. but there's always february.
nah i didn't get to unfortunately. i was gonna. but then the venue backed out and it was nearly impossible to get a date that worked for everyone. sooo yea. if an oportunity arises, i'll do it but not so much until then yea i've been staying out of trouble. haha i've been way too busy to get into any. and yes i do still enjoy the music haha.
Dude I took you're demo with me on a trip and really got a chance to listen to it. I loved I'll be there and You and Me. I loved the layering and the melodies! they kicked ass! I couldn't get them out of my head.
Thanks man. Ya I was wondering were she moved to. That's cool she stayed in the area. I live in Las Cruces now, it's like 4 hours from Santa Fe. But if you ever wana play a show here just let me know. So how's everthing been? Anything new? Hope you're doing well. And hopefully I'll see you at durango. Take Care man.
Cody, sup foo? I forgot that you had sent me a comment about the liquid house battle and didn't sign up for it. Damn it. I appreciate you letting me know though
Yeah it's definitely hard squeezing in studio and writing time in when your playing a lot. I'll try to catch one of your next shows when I have some time too.
Hey man good to hear from you. That's cool you been playing alot and working on recordings. I look forward to hearing them. Yah man not too much here. I've just been writing a bit and trying to start some demo recordings for Durango in October. You going this year? Well i hope you're good and maybe I'll see you at durango. Let me know when your CD is available. Take Care

I've been in Denver all my life, but haven't started playing much till this year. Yeah I hope we can share a stage again. I do have an acoustic set so if I play somewhere that needs more artists I'll send it your way, course, it looks like you stay plenty busy!
