Raised in one of the greatest music beds in the world, the Shoals Area of North Alabama, Cody grew up around great musicians. Inspired by them, Cody started playing guitar at age 8. He watched musicians like SRV, Jimi Hendrix, Guns N Roses, and many more to learn their techniques. Not limiting himself to listen to just one genre, Cody was open-minded to everything from Jazz to Metal. But, inside it always felt right to play ROCK music. From day one Cody has always had a rock bite with a blues edge.
By the age of 11 Cody had combined all of these styles and began writing his own music. Every day he would sit in his room practicing and writing new music hoping that one day he could play in front of thousands of people to hear them sing back to him (the bigger the crowd the more Cody is fueled). Before he turned 12 he had already started playing in local clubs with the bands that were booked to play. As he became better with the gig experience Cody's parents noticed how much he enjoyed it and wanted to become a part of it. His parents helped him in every way possible by putting together shows and setting up equipment. By the time Cody was 13 he wanted to start recording.
Eager to make the "big time," Cody recorded his first demo CD at age 13. Cody's grandfather, Tommy Emmons, produced the demo and put him in a great local studio (MSMM). As a 1st time studio experience, Cody loved it. He realized that in order to do what he wanted he would need to build a band in order play shows. He soon came to reality that there aren't many people his age wanting to play music in a band. So he decided to learn how to play a little bit of every instrument. Not even a year later of cutting his 1st demo, Cody purchased his own studio equipment and had self produced his second 14 song CD playing all instruments and singing original songs. As the CD became more popular in the local area he played shows at school, local clubs, and at churches.
As Cody played acoustic shows he really started wanting a band. He found 2 other musicians his age (16) that wanted to play. After he put the band "Room 6" (Patrick Keenum / Bass and Brett Aday / Drums) together, they started practicing and playing. But at the end of that school year Patrick and Brett had to graduate and leave the band.
Cody, still determined to put his music out, started on another solo project. At age 17 he began working on his 3rd CD which was a long process because of school and work. Half way through recording Cody had graduated high school and moved to Tuscaloosa, AL to attend the University of Alabama. Making the 2.5 hr drive back home on the weekends Cody finally completed the 3rd CD by the summer of 2004. The 3rd CD, which contains 20 new originals, is an album you can put in the CD player and listen to over and over with music & lyrics that anyone can relate to. By the time he put out the CD he had started playing shows every night in Tuscaloosa. He had quit his part-time job and made music a main priority.
As of today Cody is working with Ages Apart in Birmingham, AL and also playing solo acoustic shows.

I Just got a call from God, He said he lost an angel.. Shhh, I didn't tell him where you were, because I wanted to keep you forever :) Send this to all of your True Friends including me if I am one. I sent an angel to watch over you last night, but it came back. I asked, "Why?"... The angel said: "Angels don't watch over angels!" If one day you feel like crying, call me. I don't promise that I will make you laugh, but I can cry with you. If one day you want to run away, don't be afraid to call me. I don't promise to ask you to stop, but I can run with you. If one day you don't want to listen to anyone, call me. I promise to be there for you but also promise to remain quiet. But one day if you call and there is no answer, come fast to see me. Perhaps I need you. Send this to all your friends, no matter how often you talk or how close you are and send it to the person who sent it to you. Let old friends know you haven't forgotten them, and tell new friends you never will. Remember, everyone needs a friend. Twenty angels are IN Your World. Ten of them are sleeping. Nine are playing. One is reading this comment....xxxhugs 2 u my friend :))
