| General | Politics mostly. That's sad, I know. I also love comedies and strange sports on espn2, like World's Strongest Man, and the Lumberjack games. | | Music | Pop-music of my youth, mostly from the '90s. Also oldies. I love They Might Be Giants, Weezer, Daft Punk and others. I like Johnny Cash, and a few romantic country songs like "Can't even give it away." | | Movies | Favorite movie: Pennies From Heaven (an early 80's musical with Steve Martin, Bernadette Peters, and even Christopher Walken). I really like the Coen brothers' films. | | Television | BBC mini-series "I Claudius," about the corruption of Roman Emperors and the collapse of republican thinking. I don't have cable, or even rabit ears now, but when I have TV, I watch a lot of news and C-Span. | | Books | A little non-fiction here and there on my breaks at work. I grew up on sci-fi and fantasy novels. For a political book, try Dinesh D'Sousa's "What's So Great about America."
Notice the title ends with a period, not a question-mark. | | Heroes | American soldiers and policemen. They put their lives on the line for law and order, while law-makers just debate about it. Also any individual who gives of their time to make their church or civic organization a success. |

About me:
Dana Coffin has worked on farms, in factories, and as a public high-school Latin teacher. He has lived in Auburn off-and-on for over 20 years, is active in his church, and serves as co-Youth Director of the Maine State Grange with his wife Caroline.
