Born in Van Buren, ME, the 16 year old rapper has struggled through adversity and privation, but has overcame this hardship through music. Starting his career in August of 2006, Coherent struggled finding his style. Changing his name and lyrics periodically to fit the on going trend in hip hop music today. Soon after making his first mixtape called Ahead of My Time he met with a producer who saw talent in Coherent and started producing his earlier tracks. Coherent and his producer soon parted ways in the summer of 07. With his producers work schedule and his own career in the works, their was no time to help his prodigy. Coherent had went independent making his own tracks after purchasing his own microphone. The Mainers Philosophy was in the works but was canceled due to writers block on the tracks he had came up with. The album contained a array of styles, showing a different side of Coherent than portrayed in his newer music. Ready or Not became his first album, showing a grimy side to his music. Muckraking the government and unraveling hip hop for what it is. His style has been controversial making him a popular artist in his home town and around the internet. Coherent finished Ready or Not, which was released in late October of 2008. Coherent in the mean time has formed a group with close friend and rapper Livewire, who are in the works of making man songs. Coherent has been compared to many artists, such as: Immortal Technique, Canibus, and ICP. Keep on the look out for this artist in later months. His recent work has been with fellow Blackmail artist Livewire and hopes to drop a Blackmail mixtape soon.
