Cokespill is a versatile, experimental band toying with many different genres, from rock and gospel covers of worship songs to original alternative, emo and funk sets.
Hailing from five different countries around the world, these young musicians met in Tokyo Baptist Church in 2004 completely unaware of the fortuity, or rather, the incredible blessing of their timely gathering. Soon after jamming for a few months in 2004 and 2005 under the alias of the youth band, the talented youngsters realized their undeniable chemistry and ability to write outlandish, yet interesting songs. As close friends and fellow musicians, they decided to form a band and produce an album as a fun summer project. After some quick thinking, they named the band Cokespill and the album Moving On. A respected sound engineer named Paul was also implored to help us embark on the daunting musical journey. However, what intended to remain as a summer venture met some unforeseen logistical and musical obstacles, and had to be stretched out to become a year-long production.
Finally, on August 23, 2006, 1500 CDs arrived in the genkan of the Somers-Harris family house, marking the culmination of this massive production, and the official release of the album. Apparently, Moving On is available online, in the iTunes music store, and at some record stores worldwide.
