I would like to introduce you to Cold Creek, Utah’s Premier Bluegrass Band. They hail from American Fork, Utah and perform across Utah and the western states. The band is comprised of Bill Sprunger on guitar and lead vocals, Blaine Nelson on banjo, Nate Olson on fiddle, Andrea Ivey Banner on bass and lead vocals, and Jake Workman on mandolin. These talented musicians have been playing together for many years in various capacities and make up a truly outstanding bluegrass band.
The music of Cold Creek is a captivating blend of traditional and progressive bluegrass. It features tight harmonies, incredible picking and playing, and interesting arrangements, along with great original tunes. These five musicians love to entertain, and their live show has wowed audiences and made them a fan favorite at such venues as the Founder’s Title Bluegrass Festival in Snowbird, UT, the Bannock County Bluegrass Festival in Pocatello, Idaho, the Wolf Mountain Bluegrass Festival in Santa Cruz, CA, and the Durango Meltdown in Colorado. Audience members described a very original sound, combining some elements of Ricky Skaggs and Kentucky Thunder, Alison Krauss and Union Station, and Mountain Heart.
In early 2006, Cold Creek finished their first album, Faithfully, and began to make their name in the regional bluegrass scene. They are working on a new project now, and are excited to be receiving return invites to many engagements. In the following pages you will find biographies of each of the outstanding musicians in Cold Creek. Their instrumental and vocal skills combine to form a truly spectacular musical group.
