In the late Fall of 2002, high school classmates, Josh McCook, Jason Olson, and Richard Johnson joined forces with vocal talent, Matt Cox, and guitar extraordinaire, Drew Bearden, to form Outkold, a band whos sound hinged on influences ranging from Nirvana to Johnny Cash. Outkold played shows in the central Texas area throughout 2003 before going on a hiatus that lasted for nearly three years. Before the amicable split, the band had written a substantial amount of songs including "Lucky Charm" and "Without a Sound" that laid dorment for several years during its absence from the local music scene. But now, in 2006, the band has made a triumphant return to the stage as Cold Day Out and have released their independent debut release, "Poser", produced and engineered by Steve Rosas (Ted Nugent, Sebastion Bach).
Medes is the solo project of producer AJ Cookson. Known for his remix work under alter-ego Forma (tKatKa, Death From Above 1979, The Knife, Matthew Rozeik, Score One For Safety), and formerly as the frontman for the explosive band The Montauk Projekt (“…some kind of locked on noise-bastard two-piece” – Organ Magazine), AJ has been a regular contributor to 100m collective projects since the label’s inception and has collaborated with many of the collective’s acts. He now delivers this outstanding and long awaited debut solo collection.
