Groovin' Chicago style meets R&B with a shake of Zydeco and Soul every now and then :-)
Displaying the diversity of a band whose players are influenced by blues, rock, R&B, jazz and zydeco, The ColdRail Blues Band is laying down a solid fun groove and bringing new life to static feet everywhere they play.
Celebrating their 4th year, members of The ColdRail Blues Band are no strangers to the local music scene, each having played with many other people and groups over the years. Still each was looking for an outlet for the music that inspired them most. When what seemed like a casual conversation turned to more serious discussion about how fun it would be to play in a band where you could hear and dance to music blending all those influences, The ColdRail Blues Band was born.
"We've been really fortunate finding the right people who love being together and creating fun music. Our drummer, Michael Gourley, is talented, fun and probably one of the easiest going people I've ever met.” When our harp player, Glenn Woodhouse, joined us in our second year, our sound really came together... He rocks!" The newest addition to the band is John Rice who can really lay down a solid bottom end groove on the bass!
The band continues to generate steady interest each year from performances at the Moscow Farmer’s Market, the Renaissance Fair, Pullman’s Summer Concerts in the Park, BBQ & Blues, the Eastside Marketplace Music series, and the Nez Perce County Fair. The summer of 2009 continues that growing list of venues and reaching a new audience with appearances at M.J. Barley Hoppers, Rooster's Landing, the Palouse Car Show and a reoccurring stint at The Wawawai Canyon Winery in Pullman.
A soulful Strat, tasty Harp, and hard driving back line bring you great originals like "My Sunshine", "Dog House", and "Walk That Talk" as well as classics from the likes of Buddy Guy, Willie Dixon, Elmore James, B.B. King and other greats of the blues influenced genre. We look forward to bringing our high-energy mix of authentic blues to your stage.
