Han pasado tres años y más de 150 conciertos, desde cuando Microguagua emprendió su trayectoria en el barrio del Raval de Barcelona.
A finales del 2006, Francesco, guitarrista italiano y Coti, bajista argentino, se juntan y empiezan a trabajar las canciones que Francesco había compuesto anteriormente. Enseguida, al principio del 2007 se une al proyecto Luisao, baterista brasileño, y al cabo de unos meses de trabajo en sala de ensayo, el trio está listo para presentarse al público. Un poco por elección artística y un poco obligados por los locales de Barcelona, los primeros conciertos son en acústico, es decir, mini batería (o set de percusión), bajo y guitarra acústicos.
En septiembre 2007 llega Gaucho, guitarrista solista argentino, aportando su sound mezcla entre rock y música popular.
En este año, a parte de la actividad de conciertos "oficiales" en bares y salas, Microguagua empieza a tocar en la calle, actividad que pronto se vuelve muy importante, la cual da la posibilidad a sus integrantes de vivir de su propia música.
Llega el 2008, un año clave en la historia de la banda. Un promedio de un concierto por semana hace que el nombre del grupo empiece a circular en el ambiente under de Barcelona, y también hace que el sound Microguagua se vuelva mas reggae y roots todavía. Hay un cambio a la batería, Luisao se vuelve a Brasil, y entra Walter de Italia, se suma Nelson al teclado desde Portugal, y por fin se añade Marta, percusionista italiana.
Microguagua sigue trabajando mucho su sonido y el directo, lo cual revela ser un trabajo muy duro y a la vez enriquecedor, debido a la cantidad de diferencias culturales y musicales de sus componentes. Los conciertos que salen de este proceso, son muy intensos, fiesteros y con una conexión especial con el publico, aspecto que Microguagua considera fundamental en su actuaciones.
Estos esfuerzos y la experiencia acumulada tocando en acústico en la calle, llevan en septiembre a la salida de "ROOTSIDE", el primer disco acústico oficial de la banda, que va a suplantar la maqueta anterior llamada "Barrio Santo, part One". Este álbum fue pensado y realizado de una forma muy directa y roots, para dar una imagen real de la banda, tal como se podía y se sigue pudiendo ver en conciertos acústicos y cada día actuando en las calles de Barcelona. Este disco tiene un increíble recibimiento del público y llega a sonar también en varias radios, bares y tiendas de Barcelona. El 2008 ve también la primer gira del grupo a Galicia, y los primeros conciertos en Catalunya, fuera de Barcelona.
Llega por fin el año corriente 2009, lleno de cambios y novedades... Cambio de baterista y tecladista, se añaden vientos, por primera vez el grupo sale del territorio nacional para irse de gira a Alemania, donde toca en salas y festivales. Toca también como soporte de Natiruts, grupo reggae muy conocido de Brasil. Y la grabación y salida de su segundo álbum "BARRIO SANTO", primer disco en eléctrico, que muestra plenamente el potencial de la banda. Nueve canciones, con featurings como Leo de Che Sudaka, Cico de Congo (Mc de Aretuska), dos remezclas, una de Rude Hi-fi y un videoclip, todo esto bajo el sello de KASBA MUSIC.
La discografía completa de Microguagua comprende también dos recopilatorios, uno "Mariatchi boogie" editado por Manu Chao y el bar Mariatchi de Barcelona y “Espensaharaui” CD solidario para el pueblo del Sahara, con mas de 23 grupos de Europa y Latinoamérica, producido por Che Sudaka y Espai jove Les Corts.
Actualmente Microguagua está negociando con algunas discográficas para la distribución del nuevo álbum, y programando la segunda parte del año, que comprende una tercer gira a Galicia, y todos los conciertos de presentación del nuevo disco.

Three years, and more than 150 concerts, have passed since Microguagua set out on their journey in Barcelona’s Raval barrio.
At the end of 2006, Francesco, an Italian guitarist, and Coti, an Argentinean bass-player, got together and started to work on songs Francesco had written previously. Shortly afterwards, at the start of 2007, Luisao, a Brazilian drummer joined the project, and after a few months work in the audition studio, the trio was ready to debut in public. Partly for artistic reasons, and partly because of the conditions imposed by Barcelona venues, the first concerts are acoustic; featuring mini drum-kit (or percussion set), bass and acoustic guitar. In September 2007 Gaucho arrived, an Argentinean lead guitarist bringing his sound, a mixture of rock and popular music.
That year, as well as the “official” concerts in bars and venues, Microguagua started playing in the street, something that quickly became very important, allowing the band to live from their music.
2008 arrived, a key year in the history of the band. An average of a concert a week meant that the band’s name started to spread round Barcelona’s underground scene, and made their sound even more roots and reggae. There was a change on drums, as Luisao returned to Brazil and Walter from Italy took his place, Nelson from Portugal joined on keyboards and finally, Marta, an Italian percussionist was added to the band.
Microguagua kept working hard on their sound and their gigs, which was proving a difficult but enriching task, due to the numerous cultural and musical differences of the group’s members. The concerts which came out of this process were intense and wild, with a special connection to the crowd, aspects which Microguagua consider fundamental in their performances.
These efforts and the experience accumulated playing acoustic sets in the street led to the September release of “Rootside”, the band’s first official acoustic album, replacing the previous demo, called “Barrio Santo, part One”. This album was conceived and realized in a very direct, roots style, in order to give a true image of the band exactly as it could be seen performing in acoustic concerts and every day on the streets of Barcelona. This disk had an incredible public reception and is played on the radio and in various bars and shops in Barcelona. 2008 also saw the group’s first tour of Galicia, and the first concerts in Catalonia outside of Barcelona.
Finally this year, 2009, arrived, full of changes and novelties… Changes on bass and keyboard, with added brass, for the first time the group left Spain to tour Germany, playing venues and festivals. They also play in support of Natiruts, a very well known Brazilian reggae band. On top of this the group record their second album “Barrio Santo” on the “Kasba Music” label, their first non-acoustic release, with guest appearances by Leo from Che Sudaka, Cico from Congo (M.C from Aretuska), two remixes, one by Rude Hi-Fi and a video.
Microguagua’s full discography also includes songs on two compilations, “Mariatchi Boogie” produced by Manu Chao and Barcelona’s Mariatchi bar; and “Espensahararaui” a CD in solidarity with the people of the Western Sahara, featuring more than 23 groups from Europe and Latin America, produced by Che Sudaka and Espai jove Les Corts.
Currently Microguagua is planning the second part of the year that include a tour of Galicia and the presentation concerts for the new album.
Continued Aggression Leads to Mapuche Declaration of War Continued aggressions of the Chilean state has led the Arauco Malleco Coordinator of Mapuche Communities in Conflict (CAM), a radical indigenous Mapuche organization, to formally renounce their Chilean citizenship and declared war on the government. The declaration was issued on Oct. 20, the same day that two trucks belonging to the El Bosque forestry corporation were intercepted by CAM and set on fire in the province of Malleco. As reported by the Latin American Herald Tribune, “the attacks, which began at 1:10 a.m., came hours after five Mapuches were formally indicted under a Pinochet-era anti-terrorism law for similar assaults carried out Oct. 11 near the city of Victoria.” The declaration, much more than a symbolic gesture, comes at a time of increasing violence against Mapuche children and youths, particularly over the past three months, when Mapuche communities began reclaiming illegally occupied lands in the region of Araucania. For instance, according to the International Federation of Human Rights (FIDH), on Oct. 16 “a large group of police, for as yet unknown reasons, began to fire pellets and tear gas canisters” in a school in Temucuicui, Araucania. “Several children suffered pellet wounds and had trouble breathing,” Hundreds of Mapuche and non-Mapuche activists protested the attack on Oct. 23—including several children, who carried the empty canisters with them as the marched in Temuco, Araucania’s capital.

Oltre che i nomi degli artisti più noti come Articolo 31, Fabri Fibra, Neffa, Piotta che dimostrano una forte identità senza perdere quel legame con ciò che è ed è stato l'hip-hop, questo lavoro e‘ valorizzato anche dalle collaborazioni di tanti mc‘s e gruppi di grande importanza. Insomma, ce n'è per tutti i gusti!!
