About me:
Instructions: This coding, starting with the cite tag above should go into your "about me" section and should be the only thing in your about me section. You may leave these instructions in place for reference, as they will not appear on your profile.
It is strongly recommended that you do not edit this section if you are not good with CSS, as spelling something incorrectly or accidentally deleting something as simple as a . or a ; could result in your profile not working at all. In order to add comments back, add this code right before the closing style tag near the end of this section:
.friendsComments{display:inline; top:XXXpx; left:XXXpx; position:absolute; height:XXXpx; width:XXXpx; overflow:auto}
.friendsComments td{visibility:visible; color:XXXXXX; background-color:XXXXXX}
You will need to adjust the XXX's for background color, width, height, and position. In order to edit colors of text within your comments, additional code is required, which can be found at http://www.myspaceprodesigns.com/tutorial/myspacesel.php
Some of you will want to remove our logo and we understand, but we ask that you please at least put a link to http://www.myspaceprodesigns.com somewhere on your profile. We would be truly appreciative as we have spent a lot of time making these layouts both functional and easy to use.

Who I'd like to meet:
Instructions: This coding, starting with the cite tag above should go into your "i'd like to meet" section and should be the only thing in your i'd like to meet section. You may leave these instructions in place for reference, as they will not appear on your profile.
You may edit anything between div tags in this section or edit images or anything requiring a url. However, as you do this, be extremely careful not to delete any starting or ending html tags or things like quotes, as deleting something could make your profile not work. If you need help with html, please check out http://www.myspaceprodesigns.com/tutorial/ where you will find lots of tutorials on everything from simple html to advanced css tricks.

Je vais ajouter le français bientôt.. peut-être..
I grew up in a small, conservative town but am still not comfortable with the idea of 'normal.' Though living in the Bay area changed this idea for me somewhat. I've always had a strange relationship with language and am finally learning to speak a second one. I've worked in journalism and the non-profit world, and I have a strong interest in women's rights. I'd like to travel more and live in other places and meet lots of different people. I've written books, and I'll write more.

Nightmare in Silicon,
a memoir from the future
Ymo is a girl.
Ymo gets sick.
Ymo will die.
Ymo gets turned into a robot (not a girl).
Robots don't die.
Robots don't sleep.
Robots don't dream...

"A toxic-shock torrent of bad energy and beautiful language, Colette Phair's 'Nightmare in Silicon' is recklessly brave and driven writing, brimming with fluorescent style and startling ideas. Hers is a strong, new voice that demands and deserves to be listened to."
—Alan Moore, author of V For Vendetta and Watchmen
"Cyberpunk is alive and well. Nightmare in Silicon is convulsively funny, hideously diseased, erotically oozing, tightly plotted, and told with a wonderfully sharp tongue."
—Rudy Rucker, author of Software and Mathematicians in Love
"If Kathy Acker had lived long enough to have access to an iPod, Red Bull and Second Life, she might have come to sound like Colette Phair… Phair takes no prisoners in her vivid, sonorous truth-telling."
—Paul Di Filippo, author of Ciphers and Ribofunk

hi!
Haha, that guy was me actually when we went to see Black Rebel Motorcycle Club lol. But in fairness I bought the t-shirt there and had nowhere to put it
haha, awesome. I stuck it up to show everyone how travelled and cultured I am lol Couldn't resist buying one of the little models halfway up, stuck that right on the windowsill so it's actually the first thing I see every morning.
Hey Collette, thanks for the add. Nightmare in Silicon sounds pretty awesome, I'll try and pick it up some time. It says you live in Paris; my girlfriend and I were there at the start of July. I loved the place, definitely planning on going back. Have to anyway - never got to see Morrison's grave! lol So how is it living there?
how is la ville lumière this time of year?
Your novel is not just another robot novel, it's about the human condition, gender, and fear. For males, it teaches how little we understand women, and confirms what we do understand. The emotional and sterile description of her hospital experiences, her out-of-control relationships typical of inner-city living.
This was brilliant.
More later.
It's a state of being
Finished Nightmare in Silicone and I'll never trust fluorecent lights again.
happy birthday!!!
Happy birthdays, Colette...
All my best..

Okay so it's technically MY bookstore buying your book, but hey. I can't destroy the meme like that, can I?
Can't wait to read it. I've been waiting for ages! :D
No, you are actually the first person to ask for sarcasm. Most people avoid it. Anyway, the hitler reference was awe-inspiring. (There you go.)
