YOGA JOURNEY
I first become involved in Yoga many years ago and was influenced by my Martial Art teacher who introduced Yoga postures into every training session. This I really enjoyed and I would practice the Yoga postures daily at home as well as in class. I really believe that Martial Arts and Yoga really blended in nice together and complimented each other really well. I was very lucky to have the pleasure in studying the two disciplines at the same time. I have passed this same method on to my own martial art students by combining Yoga postures into the classes just like I was taught during my Martial Art studies.
I have been teaching to my own students as part of the ( S.R.I ) Curriculum which is a Martial Art based association and I hope to extend this practice into other venues within Liverpool and teaching none Martial Artist.
I am including several Photos in my folder which was taking September 2007 in my brother’s garden. We both waited weeks for a dry day to take the pictures. I also have several older photos in my Picture folder with Yoga / Budo Stretches and some Kicking techniques some of them were taken a while back when I was age between 20 - 22 , well something like that time goes quick :). Feel free to check them out. They are scanned copies so not really clear, but have a look .I will be adding other photos soon.
Over the years I have trained with many different Yoga teachers. However living in the present moment is what matters so I will mention the two teachers that I am training with at the moment. I am training with Dee Gray in Hatha Yoga .
I hope to learn the most I can from these two teacher's and I am really enjoying attending their Classes which I am presently attending between 3 - 4 times a week
I have also studied recently with several other teachers and I have enjoyed their classes as well and they made me very welcome during the class. So if you are reading this thank you to you all “ Namaste”,
My Philosophy is that I believe that Yoga brings inner peace which begins in our hearts, minds and our lives. We should be gently to our bodies and minds during Yoga practice by totally surrendering to our own ego and being totally unattached to the outcome of our own practice and just being proud of ourselves for taking the time to bring Yoga into our lives.
I highly recommend Yoga to everyone. All age groups can benefit from regular Yoga Sessions. One of the classes that I am attending is really good because the students are all different age groups and I can learn a lot by practicing with them all and noticing how they modify the postures during the training as really taught me a lot. Yoga is a personal thing and nothing is wasted in Yoga. I believe that Yoga should have no limitations.
In October I became a registered teacher (YRT) with the Independent Yoga Network.

JAPAN .
I first became interested in Japanese culture as a result of practicing and teaching Martial Arts. I wanted to take this further so I studied Japanese Language at Liverpool University for 4 years. My first teacher Midori had a great influence on my early learning and I have a great deal of respect for her and she really encouraged me in my early learning.
During the time studying in Liverpool several of my friends and myself started a Wednesday night Japanese/English Exchange group were we would get together with Japanese students and discuss various subjects and exchange our languages. During this time I made some really nice Japanese friends who I would meet up with weekly outside of the group for 1 to 1 language exchange. I learnt a great deal about both the culture and language from them and it led me further along the path to experience the culture more for myself and visit the country. Several of my Japanese friends and also my teacher Midori suggested that the best method would be to do a Homestay with a Japanese family ideally in the countryside to experience the culture more. I decided to do this and it was a great experience and I will tell you more about this journey later . To be continued..........
