In the small town of Marmora, Ontario, at the Country Fair, three-year-old Colin Amey won Second Prize in the Annual Junior Talent Show. That was thirty years ago and, just the beginning, of what would become Colins life long passion for music. From there Colin would become the runaway favorite in almost every single talent contest that he participated in. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------After spending many of his formative years up in the Yukon Territory, Colins mind was set to follow his dream and pursue a music career. The youngest of 3 boys, Colin spent most of his spare time listening to the radio in his bedroom and learning how to play guitar from his older brother, Kevin. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In 1987, the Amey family returned to Ontario. At the age of fifteen, through a mutual friend, Colin was introduced to a Trenton, Ontario based company called B&C Productions, and started singing on numerous studio demos, radio jingles and television advertisements. It wasnt long before Colin became an accomplished session singer. This eventually led to the release of Colins first single, Gonna Last Forever in 1990, which scored a top twenty spot on the RPM chart in Canada. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------After high school graduation, Colin began fronting many working bands, performing in nightclubs and at music festivals all across the province of Ontario. While developing as an artist, Colin shared the stage with some of Country musics hottest acts at that time. Among these stars were, Shenandoah, Wade Hayes, Joe Diffie & Pirates of the Mississippi. There were also numerous Canadian stars that Colin opened shows for like George Fox, Jason McCoy, Farmers Daughter, The Wilkinsons, Jamie Warren, Jim Witter and Julian Austin. It was also during this time period that Colin began to develop his songwriting skills, and started preparing material for his first record. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------In 1998, Colin recorded and released his self-titled debut CD, which was comprised of all of his own material. From there, he became no stranger to country radio. With 3 top twenty singles and a video on CMT, it came as no surprise that Colin was nominated for Best New Male Artist at the RPM Big Country Awards Show later that year. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------While living in Ottawa in the late 1990s, Colin eventually teamed up with Canadian songwriter Barry Brown, and began writing material for his second record, What My Heart Dont Know which earned him a CCMA nomination for Independent Male Artist in 2000. This record-spawned 3 hit singles and led to more CMT exposure with videos for the title track, and If I Didnt Call It Love which received medium to heavy rotation on CMT. With the success of this record, Colin took the honors of winning the Rising Star Award at the Ontario Country Performers and Fan Association Award Ceremonies. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Now living in the Greater Toronto Area, Colin has spent the last few years balancing a busy tour schedule and co-writing with many talented songwriters like Thomas Wade, Jamie Warren, Brian Allen and Cyril Rawson. In recent years, Colin has also made trips to Nashville to maintain relationships with fellow Canadian songwriters, Tim Taylor and Larry Wayne Clark. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------After taking some time off from the music business, Colin has just completed his third album Getaway, co-produced by Jason Barry and Rick Hutt at Cedartree Studios in Kitchener, Ontario. This award winning production team is well known for their work with artists like Jamie Warren, Beverly Mahood, Lace, John Landry, Gil Grand and Diane Chase. He celebrated the official release on November 11th 2005. All three albums are now available through Royalty Records.---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Colin has also recently opened for famed Canadian country rockers, The Road Hammers and completed a cross Ontario tour with the Sean Hogan Country Christmas Tour (November 2005).-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Please call up your local radio stations & request Colin's previous single off the new album GETAWAY, "You Don't See That Every Day". As well as his newest single, the title track also off his newest album--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Colin delivers nothing less than 100% on stage. I’ve been a music journalist for more than 10 years. Over the years, many artists and managers have asked me what the best way to break into the European music market is.
Here are some things you can do:

Send me CDs and DVDs for review and set up an artist interview with me. All reviews and interviews will be submitted to the magazines I'm writing for. More information for which magazines I'm writing can be found at http://www.MySpace.com/ChristianLamitschka
Upload artist videos to http://www.MyVideo.de and http://www.ClipFish.de . Both websites are like http://www.YouTube.com and uploading videos is free. The websites are completely in German. If you don’t speak German and need assistance, I will help you open an account and upload a video for 25 Euro. I know that many artists from North America don't have their music videos uploaded to German video websites. The most popular websites are MyVideo.de and ClipFish.de. That means your European audience does not have the chance to find them.
I understand that most of you don't speak German and are not able to upload videos because of the language barrier. If you would like me to upload your videos to the German video websites, please let me know.
Thanks
