Oh thank God, two months off before anymore school. Greatly needed and appreciated.
I'm quite the artsy person (yet I definitely think with the logical side of my brain, not the emotional). I'm known to be a closet nerd (i.e. I try to hide my nerdiness, but it doesn't seem to work). I love music, reading, shopping, travel, history, languages, politics, animals, my family, my friends, and movies.
Some random interests:
I have a weird obsession with frogs and an unrealistic fear of anything with more than six legs.
I love the Indianapolis Colts and try to watch every game.
I don't like white foods, unless it is mayonnaise or milk.
I have an unhealthy love of video games.
Amazon.com is the coolest thing to come out of the 90's. Thank you for the Kindle.
Procrastination is my only true art form. I embrace it, and pride myself on being able to write a ten page paper in three hours and still get an A.
My fave possessions are my iPOD nano and my laptop (christened Howard II, as the Howard I was stolen by some asshole).
I seem to have developed a paranoia dealing with my mailbox. After all, I only get bills.
I like pens. Pens, highlighters, pencils, etc. I love writing utensils.
I love languages. I speak English, Spanish, and Japanese. I'm learning Chinese, Latin, and hopefully Arabic (soon). I'm a glutton for punishment.

Tons...The Bridget Jones' movies, Memoirs of a Geisha, The Big Lebowski, Goonies, Grandma's Boy, Lady and the Tramp, Pulp Fiction, Duets, Boondock Saints, all the Molly Ringwald cheesy 80's films, Love Actually, about 8 versions of Pride and Prejudice, Emma, American Pie movies, Wedding Crashers, The Importance of being Earnest...just about anything with Colin Firth or Brad Pitt, and maybe Sean Connery as well. A movie really has to suck for me not to like it (like Napolean Dynamite).

I think I'll just list authors to make this quicker...Jane Austen, Joyce Carol Oates, Dan Brown, Elie Wiezel, A.S. Byatt, Toni Morrisson, Helen Fielding, Elizabeth Gaskell, Lauren Willig, Terry Pratchett, Moliere, Shakespeare, Vonnegut, and anything biographical or historical. I spend most of my free time reading, and try to read at least two books a week. My house looks like a library exploded.
Terry Pratchett is the god of literature, and Neil Gaiman is his hot stepbrother.
Heroes
My heroes are people that know what they want to achieve in their lives and let nothing get in the way of that. I hope that I can have that determination.
I also have a new hero... a pug that went skydiving. Little shit is much braver than I am. I want to go skydiving, but I'm acrophobic.

I enjoy being able to spend time with family and friends at a barbeque or a football game or just at someone's house watching movies. My favorite things to do at the moment are sitting by the pool with Jamie or arguing with Adrianna about everything and anything. That, or we're planing our awesome trip to Italy to see Laura (who we all miss so much and hope is happy with her family!).
I come from a military family--over half of my family has been or is in the military. I have a sister and a step-brother in the military now! Go ARMY and MARINES!
I'm a fledgling writer, with only two pieces published as of yet (it takes time, time, time). And soon a grad student. As well as an editor, who still works retail as life is expensive! I plan on getting my PhD and teaching history while I write, even though I think I'll be a better teacher than I am a writer. And then I hope to travel the world, visiting all my friends who are abroad.
Who I'd like to meet: Anthony Bourdain, Angelina Jolie, Johnny Depp, Colin Powell, Christopher Walken, Maya Angelou, Nancy Pelosi, the Pope, Shinzo Abe, a really cool gay guy to go shopping with, a rich man who suddenly turns up with a DNA test claiming to be my father, etc. I love people who travel or make their opinions known. I can only imagine what it would be like to get to have a conversation with just one of those people (the last two are of course for my personal shopping benefits...)
