About me:

The College of Health (http://www.usm.edu/coh/) is located on the University of Southern Mississippi campus. Welcome to the College of Health The College of Health offers a wide range of programs revolving around a central theme: the improvement of the health and well-being for individuals, families, organizations and communities. All programs in the College of Health provide direct application of a knowledge base to the problems of today’s society. Our faculty are oriented toward service and applied research so that all programs focus on applying knowledge to the solution of everyday problems. The college consists of the schools of nursing, social work and human performance and recreation and the departments of community health sciences, medical technology, nutrition and food systems and speech and hearing sciences. These seven academic units represent over 200 faculty and staff members and about 3,000 students. Traditional classes are offered on campuses in Hattiesburg, the Gulf Coast and Meridian. Students may also enroll in on-line coursework and international studies. Graduates of our programs are prepared to step into professional careers recognized for enhancing the quality of life, thanks in part to our excellent faculty, unique laboratory experiences and internships or other fieldwork. The College of Health offers the following Undergraduate majors: Health Promotion, Allied Health Healthcare Management, Athletic Training, Physical Education, Kinesiotherapy, Sport Coaching Education, Sport Management, Sport and High Performance Materials, Exercise Science, Recreation, Therapeutic Recreation, Medical Technology, Nutrition and Dietetics, Nursing, Education of the Deaf, Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, and Social Work. Minors include: Community Health Sciences, Education of the Deaf, Health Policy Administration, Nutrition and Dietetics, Physical Education, Recreation, Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, Sport Coaching Education, Sport Management, and Coaching and Sports Administration.
