Where to start...
We love a broad variety of music. From Seattle grunge to 80's pop and power metal, from punk and hardcore to electronica and dance, from the brashest and heaviest metal to the most delicate shoe-gazer indie. We pretty much love it all.
In heavy circulation now: Radiohead, Muse, Dredg, Mew, Dropkick Murphys, Devin Townsend, U2, and Pearl Jam, to name a few.
We love many local acts like Stripline, Rane Stone, The Crying Spell, Jake Marsh Trio, Iris I, Doxology, Your Invisible Hands, Kirbie Krackle, Forcefields Feel Warm, Windowpane, Scarlet Room, and Kyle's solo project. Go see these acts if you have the opportunity. Support local music!
Sounds Like
Well written rock songs with a sensitivity to our pop leanings. We like to keep it heavy enough to get the crowd moving, but melodic enough that you'll be singing the chorus during the second pass.
Matt and Kyle laid the foundation of Collider over fifteen years ago when they started their first band, Seattle sensation Laymans Terms. After five years with LT Matt left to stretch his solo legs while Kyle soldiered on to release five albums and tour extensively with the band. Two years ago they decided to partner up again and they called Ian, fresh out of the local hard rock band Art of Self Defense, to drum. Mark Wooten from Zip Gun filled out the group and they quickly built a loyal following with their polished, no-nonsense live shows. In June of 2008 the band entered Two Sticks studio with engineer and mixing master Don Gunn to record their first record. Mark left during the recording process and Kyle and Matt took over bass duties. As recording came to a close Kent Harris was tapped to lay down the low end. What is Collider? Collider is a collision of styles, tastes, and sounds. We are a collection of diverse tastes and personalities that, when melded, creates a sound you will like and want to take with you...This is COLLIDER music.
