We met as teens while working in a public library in a Toronto suburb. At that time, writing books together was the last thing on our minds; we were far more interested in meeting cute guys. Many years (and lots of cute guys) later, at the urging of Yvonne's niece, we decided to impart our worldly wisdom to teens in a book called TOTALLY ME: THE TEENAGE GIRL'S SURVIVAL GUIDE. By this point, we had a few degrees between us. Yvonne was working in the film business and Sandy was writing speeches and corporate communications.
When we ran out of good advice, we turned to fiction -- first for adults, with SPEECHLESS. Then we began writing our teen series, with INTRODUCING VIVIEN LEIGH REID: DIVA IN TRAINING.
Two more teen books followed. Our latest is THE BLACK SHEEP and our next book, GIRL v BOY, comes out in July, 2008.
We both live in Toronto--but we have escaped the suburbs.
