I like moving picture shows. I enjoy going to the rodeo and visiting restaurants that I've never...well...visited. I also like to do adventurous things, like backcountry snowshoeing and shopping without coupons. I like pork.
For some reason, I get asked about my job a lot, so let me field that question right here, right now. You know those little votive candles? The unscented white ones? Well, in order for the wick to stay secure, there is this little metal piece at the bottom. I repair those metal pieces. Sometimes with just my bare hands. Intrigued?
Music
I love country music. But, we all know that it can depress the hell out of you. You'll often find me crossing over to other genres. Right now I'm most likely listening to 'Mmm Bop' by Hanson.
Movies
Does it sound gay if I tell you that my favorite movie is Moulin Rouge? Yeah, it probably does, but whatever. I'm comfortable with my favorite movie choice. Dammit.
Television
I have yet to finish a single episode of Cops without removing my shirt. It just seems natural to watch that show topless. Reality TV is definitely one of my favorite genres. Oh, and LOST. Those wacky castaways kill me every time!
Books
When I was young, I enjoyed those "Encyclopaedia Brown" books because I loved to solve mysteries, but I've progressed into a much more worldly reader now. Today, I read things like horror novels and Maxim! I just finished reading "The Husband" by Koontz. Was not impressed. Please somebody recommend a great summer read for me!
Heroes
Have no fear, I'm the only one who can tame 'Sancho' the Wonder Llama. A lot of people list their parents or kids or dogs as their heroes. And there is definitely a case that can be made for that. However, I think we all know who the ultimate hero is. Gary Coleman. He's such a small man, but take the time to listen to him, because he's wise to the ways of this world. Love you Gary!
About me:
I'm a 38 year old mountain cowboy and have just moved to Thornton (the big city for me) from Bailey, Colorado. I was recently divorced, and had the privilege of being on the cast of an ABC primetime reality show called the "Ex-Wives Club" featuring that part of my life. It will be airing on June 11th at 9pm Eastern which is 8pm in central and mountain time zones. Thanks ABC!
I've been told by many of my friends that I am a dork. So I've got that going for me! My two beautiful daughters think I'm a dork too...and their hero. My daughters (ages 11 and 9) live with me "some of the time", but I wish it was all of the time. I miss tucking them in at night.
Diary Update
(July 26th, 2008) Today I wore my cowboy hat far too long. I just took it off and the part in my hair is amazingly odd.
Kurt on Reality Remix, Ex-Wives Club (2:32) Click here to watch this video! Well, I've made it on to Fox's Reality Remix show twice now. :) This time, I am featured in my spot on ABC's The Ex-Wives Club where I pour my heart and soul out to America while I'm getting my divorce. Thanks Kennedy!
Kurt on Access Hollywood, Ex-Wives Club (1:03) Click here to watch this video! While I was filming ABC's The Ex-Wives Club, Access Hollywood came out to watch my "revenge segment." Take a look at my interview and see how I exact my revenge on my ex-wife's lover. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
Ex-Wives Club Teaser Commercial (0:30) Click here to watch this video! Here is the Ex-Wives Club teaser commercial with Sue and I. Thanks go out to Susan for providing me with this video. :) Apparently this was what was running before my episode aired. This clip was during Wheel of Fortune on June 11th, 2007.
Stanley Hotel Ghost Hunt (runtime - 5:25) Click here to watch this video! Sock Monkey embarks on a ghost hunt at the famous haunted Stanley Hotel in Estes Park, CO. This is the hotel that "The Shining" by Stephen King was based on. You will need your sound on for this video and I'd recommend headphones so you can hear the spooky sounds closely. (this is not one of those videos that surprises you with a loud noise at the end)
Kurt Risks It All While Battling A Slurpee (runtime - 3:54) Click here to watch this video! This was the first video that I created using my digital camera. Very shaky, but well worth the pain. My sock monkey appears in this video. His name is Monkey Monkey Monkey by the way.
Kurt's Ultimate Horseback Adventure (runtime - 3:43) Click here to watch this video! I had a lot of footage on this adventure that I had to cut out due to the length of the soundtrack I added. One day soon, I'll upload a bit more of the fun I had. ;)
Emma Enters The Bellyflop Competition (runtime - 0:36) Click here to watch this video! Here is a very short video of my daughter Emma at the pool. We all came back to my place with red and painful skin. Some who have watched this video think that Emma is walking like she has diarrhea. You be the judge. ;)
Kurt Featured on Reality Remix! (runtime - 0:38) Click here to watch this video! I couldn't figure out how to transfer my recording of the show from Tivo to my computer, so I went old school and filmed my TV. I love to look in Kennedy's eyes when she says "No cowboy ... thank you!"
Promotional Teaser For The Reality TV Show I Was On (runtime - 1:21) Click here to watch this video! Yes, I was on a primetime ABC reality tv show, and NO it has yet to be aired. :) Here is a nice promotional video for the show. I'll be sure to let everyone know when the air date is set.
Who I'd like to meet: A lady who doesn't mind some old fashioned romance. You know...like going to a moving picture show...a bit of awkward silence...stealing a kiss and then removing the gum from each other's shoes.
Hey monkey butt did you and the girls sign up for the virtual "family" kingdom yet? I did like a few weeks ago and used my same id as on vmk -----lemme know
