From the NC Triangle area, Colors of Flying is a brand-new ensemble of musicians that have found an intimate connection between distant musical cultures. A veritable constellation of far-reaching world music performers, the members have traveled all over the world to live, study, and perform. With Austin McCall on percussion, Benjamin Pates on Turkish oud /cello, Will Ridenour on the West-African kora, Andrew Magill on fiddle, and Jonathan Henderson on upright bass, a creative and improvisatory energy is focused into an original fabric of sound.

Personally, I hate parking lots --- but we have so many of them! Sitting there, doing nothing but heating up the atmosphere, so solar parking lots! Community-sustained, secure, renewable electricity! Bonus = community jobs! All over America! So I’m back at university learning GIS to analyze each town’s paved parking areas (Greensboro NC (pop 247,000) has 10.27 square miles of it that will power over 500,000 homes (every year) if covered with photovoltaics!) and I’m starting put_a_lid_on_it …………..……….
