Biography

COLOSSUS is a DEATH METAL GRIND band from Northern France (Noeux-Les-Mines / Pas-de-Calais). The band is currently writing his second album which recording is scheduled for first half of 2012.

Born in July 2007 from the ashes of projects such as SHOEMAKER LEVY 9 (Jordan / vocals) and BLAH KEENK (Fabien / vocals), the band operates primarily in a style oriented DEATH METAL. After several line-up changes, COLOSSUS finds its balance in september 2008, with the arrival of Grégoire (ex Ink Under The Blood) on bass, Romain (ex Craven) behind the drums, Max (ex Craven) and Delphine (ex And The Angels Die) on guitars. Real cohesion moved through the influences of each, directing the band’s music style to a more brutal and more technical. With tracks tainted with groovy riffs at the same time loud and melodic, of blasting parts and incisive breakdowns and two kinds of guttural voices, the band creates its own musical identity far from usual standards

The band quickly began concerts in France and in Belgium and shared the stage with bands names like Despised Icon, Annotations of An Autopsy and Postmortem Promises.

In November 2009, the band recorded his first album, "Fragments" (in the Studio Boss Hog). Released in June 2010, the album received a warm welcome to the public. Actually the band is writing his second album while continuing to share his passion for live music. The album will be recorded in 2012 and marks a real musical development for the band.

COLOSSUS est un groupe de DEATH METAL GRIND originaire du Nord de la France (Noeux-Les-Mines / Pas-de-Calais). Le groupe compose actuellement son deuxième album dont l'enregistrement est prévu pour le 1er semestre 2012.

Né en juillet 2007 des cendres de projets tels que SHOEMAKER LEVY 9 (Jordan / chant) et BLAH KEENK (Fabien / chant), le groupe évolue d'abord dans un style axé DEATH METAL. Après plusieurs changements de line-up, COLOSSUS trouve son équilibre en septembre 2008 avec les arrivées de Grégoire (ex INK UNDER THE BLOOD) à la basse, Romain (ex CRAVEN) derrière les fûts, Maxime (ex CRAVEN) et Delphine (ex AND THE ANGELS DIE) aux guitares. Une réelle cohésion s’installe au travers des influences de chacun, orientant la musique du groupe vers un style plus brutal et plus technique. Avec des compositions empreintes de riffs accrocheurs à la fois lourds et mélodiques, de blasts et de breaks incisifs et de deux chants gutturaux percutants, le groupe se forge une réelle identité musicale loins des standards habituels.

Le groupe entame rapidement les concerts en France ainsi qu'en Belgique et partage l'affiche avec des groupes renommés tels que Despised Icon, Annotations of An Autopsy ou Postmortem Promises.

En novembre 2009, le groupe enregistre son premier album intitulé "FRAGMENTS" (au Boss Hog Studio). Sorti en juin 2010, l'album reçoit un très bon accueil auprès du public. Le groupe compose actuellement son deuxième album tout en continuant de partager sa passion de la musique sur scène. L'album sera enregistré en 2012 et marquera une réelle évolution musicale pour le groupe.
