Dakota Allemang is a newcomer to the music scene, although no stranger to his instruments. He started playing guitar at the tender age of 11 and bass at 13, and although he never took formal lessons, he soon gained an unusual and pervasive style that quickly earned him the respect of his peers. While he began with guitar, his overall musical sense grew as he grew older and listened to bands such as Incubus and Primus. He also began playing live shows at the age of 13, where he continued to perfect his mastery of the bass. Over the next several years, he slowly began experimenting with drums, using simple loops from a loop pedal, and began to realize what kind of music he would later produce. With the acquisition of a keyboard in 2008, he was finally able to expand and produce exactly what he had always pictured. He had also begun listening to rap and hip-hop, which is clearly heard in his current musical stylings, and begun to make his own drums and DJ effects for his tracks. Today his style and technique are matched by few, as he continues to produce new and exciting music almost weekly to the delight of his fans and peers alike. He is working on a number of collaborations, and while no CD is finished yet, its conception is certainly inevitable. In short, it is clearly safe to say that Dakota is a rising force in the music world, and with his unforgettable style and signature rhythms, the name Colourful Approach is sure to be mentioned for years to come. "I make beats for rappers, and occasionally spit on a couple myself"
