Sounds Like
the love child of pop-punk and alternative. Its so beautiful it makes you want to weep for a moment before you get up and ROCK!!!
Armed with a staggering catalogue of original material that ranges from upbeat pop-punk to driven grunge rock and intricate acoustic alternative, Colour in Conflict is one of the most promising new bands on the Edmonton scene. The group consists of drummer Kevin Cutting, bassist and vocalist Ben Grunewald, and guitarist Robyn Slack. While the current line-up was established locally in late 2007, the band has been writing and performing in several incarnations for over three years. Mixing elements of modern pop-punk, classic grunge rock and stripped-down alt-rock, Colour in Conflict’s sound is entirely unique and must be experienced to be truly appreciated. Colour in Conflict have performed at numerous Edmonton venues including, amongst others, the Starlight Room, Brixx, the Urban Lounge, The Pawn Shop, Remedy Cafe, Crown Pub, and Grant MacEwan College. C-in-C were also featured performers at Grizzfest 2008 in Tumbler Ridge, BC, and Edmonton's 2009 Works Festival.
Their five-song EP, "Under the Affluence," was released in summer '08, and is available at most record stores around Edmonton, or at any of the band's shows. Even more exciting, C-in-C is preparing to re-enter the studio late this year (fingers crossed) to record their first full-length album.
