The brainchild of friends Adam Jerome and Pat Ramsden; Colt.44 formed in 2007 as a 4-piece nu-metal band with the intention of playing music that wasn't based on haircuts, gimmicks or what was popular at the time. Adam and Pat had previously played in many bands of various genres and had found them all lacking in musical ability and career prospects. They enlisted drummer Matt Savini after a recommendation from a friend, as well as a vocalist Adam knew from his previous band Recall.
They began to write music they enjoyed- heavy, down-tuned riffs with classic rock solos, and above all, real singing. At first progress was slow and they had to ditch their singer due to internal problems, with Adam taking over the role of lead vocals and the band becoming a 3-piece. The gigs then started coming thick and fast; the music progressing from generic modern metal to what it is today- a blend of modern american rock,nu metal and grunge! This style of music (backed by a collection of solid hard rock hits) and an electric stage presence has gained them over 160 shows to date all over the uk including supports with Panic Cell, Zico chain, Symphony cult, Seven years dead, the Inbreds, OMT, Vallenbrosa, Sanctorum and many many more; as well as landed them a record contract with Casket Music. Expect to see the them tearing up the UK stages in support of their debut album ‘One Horse Town’, as well as on TV and airwaves with their debut music video and singles 'sick' and 'I tear myself away'.
