Influences
Life... It is what influences me most when writing songs. We grew up listening to mostly rock music and have been fans of Kiss, Judas Priest, Queensrych, Van Halen and then drifted to the grunge scene absolutely loving the music of Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, STP, Sound Garden and Smashing Pumpkins. Bands like I Mother Earth and Rage Against the Machine have pounded our ear drums for years and more recently the Foo Fighters, Thornley, Three Days Grace and Electrashine... ..With influences like these you might ask why country music. ..Well..... I used to play and write songs of this genre in a few different bands. Most notably a band called" My Only friend" but as I grow older I don't feel the anger and angst that comes with hard rock. I needed to flex a new musical muscle so ......Colt Harley was born. Elvis, Johnny Cash,Gary Allen, The Road Hammers, Gretchen Wilson, Toby Keith, Shooter Jennings, George Canyon, Keith Urban, Johnny Reid and Doc Walker( just to name a few) are influencing the ever evolving mind of Colt Harley... ..........
