In Rochester, New York, you don't get much more "street" than Genesee Street, stomping grounds of Cavalry Entertainments newly signed recording artist. The decision to sign Columbo was made "the second he spit a verse out his mouth, his stories paint pictures and his punch lines intrigues everyone listening," according to KamI. Columbo voices his neutral feeling towards Cavalry Entertainment was he mentions "I met E.P.I.C. (Co-CEO) when he was starting Cavalry Entertainment with KamI and he knew I was down!
Standing about 6'3, and filled to the brim with multi-syllabic rhymes, 22-year-old Columbo was working on his solo album before the kinks were worked out for his signing. "I had tracks that need to be re-done. It's time consuming, because you don't want too many of your beats from the same producer, and having all your stuff sound the same."
In the meantime, Columbo's been working on promotion, jumping on three mix tapes this past year. He's also been featured on Chris G's radio show on 89.7. When he gets time away from his solo effort he's working on ghost-writing R&B tracks, a talent that will most likely be showcased via Cavalry artist Alexis in the near future. "Everybody (signed with Cavalry Entertainment) is hot! We got a strong foundation. Everybody brings something different to the table. That's what your gonna need to succeed as a label." Columbo is so gifted that he even talks in rhyme.
