Columbus is a heavy rock band who hails from Metz, France ,its members are mainly influenced by the likes of
FUNERAL FOR A FRIEND, INCUBUS or HELL IS FOR HEROES. Musically and if being specific genre , Columbus
could be described as a heavy-power rock band. The unit’s sound is distilled by a clean
and tight rhythm section, and is carried by a voice as powerful as it is melodic.
MESSAGE
Columbus reflects an innocent but realistic vision of the world which surrounds it. Without trying to make any political statements Columbus attempts to challenge the conscience, leaving behind only a possible path for the listener to lose themselves in and never pushing any preconceived stereotypes, always leaving the door open for the listener to decide for themselves. Columbus through music merges the sharp blade of frustration and the forever healing cure of optimism.
EXPERIENCE
It was at the end of April (2006) the band launched itself by recording their first “official” 6 tracks E.P. at the "ESPRIT MUSIQUE" studios in Metz. Thereafter they were championed by Fred, lead guitarist of WATCHA, the torch baring group of the French nu-metal scene. Fred was so enthralled by their level of musicianship that he decided to help them by mixing their E.P, after which the tracks were mastered at the famous «La SOURCE» studios by Jean-Pierre Chalbos (-M-, TRYO, Jean-Louis Murat) in PARIS. Strongly enriched by this experience the band started an intensive self-promotion campaign and due to its efforts succeeded in organising a 16 gigs tour of the United Kingdom (from Ipswich to Glasgow passing through Birmingham and Worcester on the way). In July 2006 while in the UK Columbus shared the stages with many bands including: Three years hiding, The fallout theory, Backwash, Inflight, New Town Kings, Dividing the line, The Parachutes (DE), Fei Comodo.....
After this first UK tour, Columbus just came back on the road in France, playing a lot of gigs in pubs, festivals, with bands such as STEREOTYPICAL WORKING CLASS, MY ONLY SCENERY, TANGUERO, BORDERLINE, FALLASTER, ETERNAL TANGO ( LUX )and finally had the privilege to support the whole HELL IS FOR HEROES ( UK ) french tour..

Les Hellacopters sont morts ? Vive Paperback Freud ! Quintet originaire de Stockholm, pratiquant comme tout bon Suédois qui se respecte, un rock'n'roll hi-energy qui prend sa source dans le hard des années 70, Paperback Freud est bien plus qu'une révélation, c'est un futur classique !
La presse ne s'y trompe pas et leur album sera disque du mois dans le magazine "Rock Hard" de décembre et tous ceux qui ont pu les voir et les entendre sont unanimes, ce groupe ira très loin.
