With anarchic breakdowns and precision dissonance infused with graceful atmospheric swells COMA LIES have set out to pummel fans of heavy music with their hectic yet graceful sound.
Since the middle of the year 2004 this five piece has been punishing stages at every stop across the long highways of their home country Australia with their intense and frenzied break-neck performance.
Since their inception, Coma Lies have had a busy touring schedule and first released an independently produced EP/Demo which quickly sold out of it's first 5 pressings. The band then signed to Skull and Bones records in early 2006 where they released a self titled EP which was recorded by James Balderstrom, the man behind aussie heavy-weights A SECRET DEATH and AGAINST. the EP was then mastered by REFUSED, POISON THE WELL and IN FLAMES mastermind PELLE HENRICSSON.
After line-up changes and a lot of hard work, "A Churchwell Killing" EP was released in late March 2007. through relentless touring and promotion, the EP has since sold out of its first pressing.
To date, COMA LIES has quite worthily gained the reputation as one of the hardest working bands in Australia. ..With a difficult-to-match DIY ethic which is more than a rareity these days, they have self booked and promoted over 250 shows locally and interstate in the last two years alone.
COMA LIES have also had the pleasure of crushing stages with international acts such as ARCHITECTS (UK), THE BLED (USA), FROM AUTUMN TO ASHES (USA), MISERY SIGNALS (USA), BLACKLISTED (USA) and BRING ME THE HORIZON (UK). Adding to this impressive roster the band has also played with well established local acts such as PARKWAY DRIVE, I KILLED THE PROM QUEEN, HER NIGHTMARE, THE GETAWAY PLAN, BEHIND CRIMSON EYES, BLOOD DUSTER and PSYCROPTIC.
2009 is already starting to shape up to be a big year for COMA LIES.
Having just returned from 2 months over in Los Angeles, California where the band recorded their debut album with Steve Evetts (Every Time I Die, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Poison The Well) aswell as wowing audiences in Orange County, the band have planned to release the album in the summer of 2009/2010.
Prepare for one of the most promising Australian Metal releases in recent years as Coma Lies set up the road for another huge tour to celebrate the album...
