Indie Way Project
Electro funk bass/drums duo from Brooklyn, Comandante Zero has begun the Indie Way Project. The Indie Way Project is a campaign to produce, promote, fund and document the process of creating their new full length record which will be titled 'Slouching Toward Babylon.' A major part of the plan is to raise money through small donations from fans and listeners via their website www.comandantezero.com to cover the cost of recording, producing, printing and promoting the record as well as the subsequent tour support. They hope to devise a model by which other artists can create without the strictures of corporate backing.

Comandante Zero, or C0, is a Brooklyn-based drum/bass/laptop duo consisting of two virtuosic New York session musicians/DJ’s: bassist/singer Dan Freeman and drummer/producer Ken White - mixing the heavy live groove of bygone dance bands like Chic and Liquid Liquid with the gritty edgy modern Brooklyn indie-electro sound. Formed as a touring rhythm section for Virgin Records’ electro-artist Xavier, they’ve shared the stage with some of NYC’s favorite indie and electro acts including The Juan Maclean, The Brazilian Girls and Stellastarr*, and performed in New York, London and Berlin. Their shows, a musical and visual collaboration with Brooklyn artist 0h10M1ke who digitally draws each song as it’s being played, have built them a following of loyal fans. In December 2008, Music Connection Magazine labeled them one of the best unsigned bands in the United States. In 2009 they went into the studio to record their first album Slouching Toward Babylon and in February, 2010 they released their first track ‘Give It Up (Receive And Transmit)’mixed and mastered by legendary multi-platinum Grammy-award winning engineer/producer Bob Power.
