Come Alive formed in 2008 in West Chicago, just outside Chicago’s thriving music scene. The band—consisting of vocalist Papy Paplaczyk , guitarist John Madon, guitarist Chris Pawl, bassist Tom Pawl, and drummer Scott Luper—quickly put together a string of regional shows. Their intense and captivating stage shows, which include drummer Scott Luper lighting his drum sticks on fire during the set, earned them a strong local following and prompted them to head to the studio to record their E.P. In December 2008, the band ended the year with the release of the debut E.P. “Better Than Bad Sex”.
“Better Than Bad Sex” has already received industry recognition with the lead single “Hold On” receiving airplay at the legendary Q101.1 in Chicago. The E.P. captures the band’s signature sound, a mix of soaring vocals inspired by Shinedown’s Brent Smith and Seether’s Shaun Morgan with driving guitars echoing alt rock staples Foo Fighters and Green Day. Come Alive successfully delivers five genuine, soulful, rock songs on their debut that continue to garner praise and fans within the Chicago music scene.
Come Alive will head back out on the road to support the E.P. and looks to release a full length album in 2009.
