Anything to do with laughter. Traveling to strange places other people have never heard of. Visiting my family. Savoring the moments you know you'll think about again and again, like teaching a kid to ride a bike or walking them into their first day of school. Working with my hands. Building or destroying things both appeal to me. Real Estate. The stock market. Tennis. Golf. My checking account. Computer problems. Free food. Seeing how many miles I can put on my car. Telling war stories about my drinking days. Naps in the afternoon. Watching movies but not tv. Poker. Walking for fun but not excercise. Gasoline prices. Auctions. Coffee. Mountains and the ocean.
Music
Although I hardly listen to them anymore my favorite band since 1993 has been the Barenaked Ladies. Love 'em. If I was forced to pick a favorite song it'd be Brian Wilson. Lately in the car I've been listening to this cd of lounge music my friend gave me. I love this song by Bobby Darrin that's on there but I don't know what it's called cause it's just on a CD-R. I hate when people say they like all kinds of music but I too don't lean real heavy towards any one genre.
Movies
I guess I know how people at the Oscars feel about leaving somebody out now. I love movies and I'll probably put all the wrong ones and I'm not gonna edit this everyday so here goes nothing.... Ray, Dead Poets Society, Braveheart, Raising Arizona, Good Will Hunting, Boogie Nights, Bachelor Party, Saturday Night Fever, Uncle Buck, Goodfellas, Casino, Christmas Vacation, The Toxic Avenger, Blow, Fletch, The Deer Hunter, Revenge of the Nerds, Color of Money, King Pin, Saving Silverman, Office Space, Napolean Dynamite, Scarface, Up in Smoke, The Shining, The Goonies, Purple Rain, Breakfast Club, Karate Kid, The Blues Brothers, Animal House, Princess Bride, Swingers, Shawshank Redemtion, Million Dollar Baby, The list goes on and on....
Television
I try to not watch to much tv. Married with Children is frickin' hilarious though. My mom gave the first season of 24 on DVD to watch and that totally sucked me in. Nip/Tuck and Rescue Me give me something to do on tuesday night if I'm not working.
Books
I own some and I've read some. I tend to gravitate more towards non-fiction matter. If it's about a historical event I'll probably read it. If it's made up it bores me quickly. Example: I just finished Silence of the Lambs, a great book and it took me about 4 months to finish. I read a book about the sinking of the U.S.S. Indianapolis and I was done with that in about two days and pissed it wasn't longer.

The quick skinny is I grew up on the north side of the Minneapolis suburbs. School was a breeze. I grew up like every other person thinking I was bound for greatness. A few years as an adult and you realize maybe life is just meant to be survived but not too fast. I left Minneapolis to conquer the world of radio and spent 7 years bouncing around the midwest jumping from one station to the next trying to make my mark. I think the only real mark I made was on the expense accounts of certain record company reps. We had a good time but I don't think I left much of an impression on the radio world. All kinds of talent but no direction. I guess it was the wrong dream because at the last station I was at our breakroom led right into a comedy club and ultimately my new passion. It didn't take long for me to start hanging around open mic night writing jokes. One monday afternoon meeting with the program director and I was free to tell jokes full time. I was later offered a pretty lucrative job in radio back in my hometown but made the tough choice of turning it down to persue this comedy nonsense. Not once have I regretted it. Every day is different and it suits me well since I get bored with mundane routines real easy. Another day, another dollar, another 2000 miles on the car.
Who I'd like to meet: The president. No particular one but I'd like to say "I met the President." Elvis even though we have been having a tough time tracking him down. Richard Pryor would have made me speechless. Is somebody going to read this that can make this happen or am I just wasting my breath?
