The Comet Bluegrass All-Stars (CBAS) were assembled in 1996 as the Sunday night house band at The Comet, a neighborhood pub in Northside, Cincinnati. Since that time the popularity of the band has grown beyond the lounge at The Comet, opening for such national acts as Sam Bush, Blue Highway, Del McCoury and Ricky Skaggs.
The Sunday night sessions at the Comet are informal and known to draw a diverse listening audience from small children to senior citizens. Those attending the shows find each member of the six-piece band to be accomplished singers and multi-instrumentalists, with the live combination of these players presenting an even greater sum than its parts.
The CBAS won the Cincinnati Enquirer Cammy Award in 2000, 2001 and 2002 for Best Bluegrass/Folk Band as well as CityBeat's Cincinnati Entertainment Awards in 2001, 2002 and 2004 for Best Bluegrass/Folk Band.

HELP PUT THE STANLEY BROTHERS IN THE COUNTRY MUSIC HALL OF FAME!
Ralph Stanley has received many well-deserved honors in the last few years, yet one honor eludes him. While many of their fellow musicians and singers have been recognized by The Country Music Hall of Fame, THE STANLEY BROTHERS have been sadly -- some say criminally -- overlooked.
Jeanie Stanley, youngest daugher of Carter, and fan Kaye Hill have organized an on-going petition to change all that.
"The Country Music Hall of Fame recognizes those persons who have made a significant contribution to the country music field," says Hill. "The Stanley Brothers helped lay the foundation for what we have today. Their names deserve to be listed among greats like Bill Monroe and Flatt & Scruggs, who have already be recognized."
You can join their efforts in one of the following ways:
Contact the CMHoF directly:
Mr. Kyle Young, President
Country Music Hall of Fame & Museum
222 Fifth Avenue South
Nashville TN 37203
Or, if you prefer, you can send a letter to Kaye Hill, who will forward them to the HoF.

PO Box 2553

Kay says, "a simple one-line note is all that would be required, but please remember to supply your name and address, and an email address if applicable. I will be collecting all letters and forwarding them to the Country Music Hall of Fame."
I was thinking of setting up a website for bands to sell their music and put it up top in the search engines. I wanted to ask all of the bands on my friends list what they thought.
Then as each band refered their frieds to the site to download their music, the other bands might gain some exposure in the process, Like a big network of friends that love music.
