The Comic Jam is back with pens and pencils ablazing!!!
Myself and Kel have always run the Comic Jam for the love of comics and jamming as we all like jam!
When the Comic Jam first started at the Bristol Comic Expo back in 2005 in the Ramada Plaza second function room saturday night and just Cams cd player for music!
We put the comic out later on that year once Kel had converted each frame from the A1 sketch pad onto his computer. The Comic Jam Bristol Comic Jam comic was put out by Linoleum Press which Kel got printed for free. When the comic went for sale we decided all the money would goto cancer research as both Kel and myself had people close to us who had died of cancer.
And because of the number of artists who drew a panel at the Bristol 2005 comic jam we decided to put the comic out for charity as we didnt want to make money from all the diff artists who had drunkly drawn a panel at the comic jam.
And since then the comic jam has gone on at various festivals that Linoleum Press has been at.
And now the Comic Jam enters an exciting time in the closing months of 2008 and 2009.
The comic jam will be involved with more live art jams than you can shake an art brush at!
We will be starting with monthly comic jams and then weekly jams in the new year that will be streamed on the web from the clubs and venues along with secret shows etc
Stndfish will be at the DJ Vadim Doctors Orders night Nov 7th @ Herbal London doing live art for the Doctors Orders Vadim cancer research fund
Selling and producing live art all evening to sell for the vadski fundage
The following weekend the Comic Jam will be @ Leeds Thought Bubble festival 15th Nov
Stndfish will be doing some comic jamming thru the day such as passing round a blank comic to be drawn in by all the artists with the idea of getting printed and stuff for the vadim cancer + comic fund
And possibly a Comic Jam/Live art afterwards in Leeds with the colab of Meka Recordz + several hip-hop crews
