really mean it, everything! from greatest rock n' roll recordings old and new, elevator to dance music, the poppiest of pop (usually older pop), noisiest of noise, highest and lowest of fi, Top 40, Bottom 160, various Time Life compilations, amazing smaller bands that we've seen, lots from the 70s, game show theme music and 90's hip hop.

Sounds Like
an evolved rock n' roll band that makes you wanna FREAKY-DEAKY!!!! Rage Against the Machine on sedatives, sans politics (the good riffs and wah wah)...Barry White's Love Unlimited Orchestra with a stompbox. Rick James meets Porno for Pyros. Flipper doing Prince covers. Late The Clash w/o the reggae, kinda'...Beck does cool stuff. some Pharoah Monch, O.D.B. and Jay-Z.
comma is an experimental 3-piece from boston. music, purposely subject-to-change, is currently self-described as "barry white's love unlimited orchestra with a stompbox, porno for pyros meets rick james, flipper doing prince covers with sprinkles (we call them jimmies 'round here) of melodic beatle-esque influences, velvet underground rawness, ol' radiohead & Eno atmospheric tendencies and the love of hip hop & good DJs"...soul, funk, punk, fpunk, pop, rock, avante rock...sound->music. music that makes you do something, not stand & watch with chin on hand. kinda like blur, the clash, beck, franz rerdinand. "cliché" music w/o boundaries. music like when grandma hits the dance floor at a wedding when the DJ spins the clash but sits and mows cake during journey. sometimes like some of those TIME LIFE classics on late night infommericials you see where you're like "that's a kickin' song, i can groove to this shit" and you get up off the couch and start kickin' it. listeners lookin for stories & epic musicals need not apply.
comma's hit stages in the boston/cambridge circuit; PAs Lounge, T.T. the Bear's, Abbey Lounge, Harper's Ferry, Kirkland Cafe, The Linwood, All Asia, Copperfield's & others sharing bills with cool acts like the globs, vary lumar, pray for polanski, 25Affair, eureka gold, lights, fenwick, fhe bludlows, and Iceland pop sensation Dyrdin. obvious "rite of passage" apartment gigs...comma was a featured band at the now-defunct lower allston art gallery 2012, and the "Music Box" at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in N. Adams.
currntly, comma has a 4 song EP and/or an "OK demo." drums recorded at kissy pig in Allston all else DIY. mixed in San Juan PR.
oh my god that was hot. i haven't had me a daniels john fix in a while.... have i told you about my shia lebaulf obsession? and did you hear that my girl whinehouse has emphesyma and might die? boy....i need your support through this.... p.s. mom...if we evolved from bugs then why are those men wearing those hats????
"take on me" by a-ha was pure, unadulterated genius. i fell asleep listening to it last night and dreamt that I was a sweaty patrick swayze look-alike in a tight wife-beater making passionate love to goldie hawn backstage on the set of mel gibson's bird on a wire. 80's music just has an amazing way of grabbing you and putting you somewhere, even if that somewhere happens to be snorting house paint in the back of a beat up chevy pickup on a hot summer day. those were the days.
Hey!! How´re you doing!? It´s been a long time since we didn´t drop by!! So, just wanted to say hy, and to let you know that we are still here, loving and supporting nice artwork like yours.
