J. Maletteri A.K.A. “Roc”, has been writing rhymes and recording hip hop music for over a decade now. His versatile style ranges from underground hip hop using poetry over percussion. His music thrives on his own personal experiences in life. From such things as the lose of a father and and striving to overcome the adversity of a rough upbringing. He shows a genuine love for hip hop in every rhyme or freestyle he delivers. Roc and Common Groundz have a strong following through out the Tri state area of New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Delaware. His fans rang from a variety of demographics from college kids to professionals in the business world. He has a sound that draws from emotion like Tupac, while also being able to keep is records consistent and comical.
R. Wilson a.k.a DozdaDoz, Dozer, MR.E(Eccentric), Bummyjack Jr. or Fat Boy of Da Groundz, started rapping sincerely when he was about 17 years old in the backwoods of South Jersey. He was influenced by many rappers including Curtis Blow, Run DMC, Biz Markie, KRS One, Mc Lyte, Redman, Wu Tang, De la Sol, Bone Thugs, The Fugees, Big Pun, Blackstar, Biggie, 2pac and Aesop Rock. When he started out he mostly showed his skill at parties by engaging in party battles. He felt destined to be part of a group though tragically, he ended up being in about six, which all crumbled. Then he ran into Common Groundz, through Icon whom at the time (04/05) never considered rapping. Doz knew right away that group was different and could prove to be the truth he'd been searching for. Since day 1 they have produced hundreds of tracks. B Jack has been making beats for the last 2 years along with writing, recording, working, and learning every facet of the guitar. Dozer brings a unique feature to Common Groundz with his agility and diversity.
C. Jean A.K.A. ICONscious is somewhat of a newcomer to hip-hop but uses hip-hop as tool as it was meant to be, and as a form of expression. Raised in the suburbs of South Jersey, Icon has embraced the essence of true hip hop and expresses his views, life experiences, and beliefs through metaphoric poetry throughout his rhymes. Being the newest member of Common Groundz, Icon has been installed as the missing link of the crew by making everying feel whole as a group.
