About me:
Our Community Tool Box (CTB) [http://ctb.ku.edu] is a free, capacity-building website available to communities. The CTB is developed and maintained by the Work Group for Community Health and Development [http://communityhealth.ku.edu] at the University of Kansas [http://www.ku.edu] in Lawrence, Kansas USA, and other national and global partners.

CTB materials focus on building the capacity of community, state, national, and global efforts to bring about change. With over 8,000 pages (and growing!), it includes step-by-step guides for key skill areas, real-life examples, and supports for problem-solving. The CTB is the largest and most comprehensive resource of its kind in the world. In addition to its availability in English, there are a number of CTB tools that have been translated and are now available in Spanish.

The vast resources of the CTB are organized by what you may want to do:

Learn a Skill: A Table of Contents links you to 46 chapters and over 250 sections that provide training in specific skills of community work.

Plan the Work: Toolkits provide outlines for tasks, examples, and links to how-to informations for 16 core competencies involved in doing this work.

Solve a Problem: Troubleshooting Guides list common dilemmas you face in this work, questions for analysis, and links to relevant supports for solving them.

Explores Best Processes and Practices: Evidence, examples, and links to tools help you make the case for a set of key mechanisms that advance your work.

Connect with Others: Learn with others about this work in online forums, ask a question of an advisor, and find links to other online resources.

Who is the CTB for?

The CTB is intended for use by everyone interested in building healthier communities, including members of community partnerships, citizens and members of grassroots organizations, schools and universities, foundations and grantmakers, and state and national agencies.
