Metro Volkswagen Cycling Team is an elite team based out of Grapevine, TX. Its main backer is Metro Volkswagen, a VW dealership started by the Hagestad family back in 1987.
Over 45 years ago, in Cheyenne, Wyoming, Vern Hagestad opened the family's first Volkswagen dealership. He quickly realized that there was something special about VWs and their owners, and so he decided, right then and there, that the customers would always come first. No pushy sales tactics. Just make sure that everyone is 100% satisfied. And it worked.
The tradition that started with Vern continues with us, Vern's son and grandson, Bob and Brad Hagestad. In 1987, when we learned that DFW averages around one week of winter per year, we decided that Texas would make a great new home. Metro Volkswagen opened that year, and we've since sold more Volkswagens than any other dealer in Texas, and more than most dealers in the nation.
