More specific? Stuff that doesn't suck. Ok, so I used to say I liked pretty much everything except rap and country. I'd say it's because I moved to Texas that some country has grown on me, but I like some rap too, so I don't think it's that. I don't know if I can be more specific, sorry.
Movies
Ok, let's just name a few here: Shawshank Redemption, The Usual Suspects, American Beauty, A Beautiful Mind, Austin Powers, Happy Gilmore, Airplane, Office Space, UHF, Monty Python (all), and Kevin Smith's stuff.
Television
I don't watch much TV. Simpsons, Family Guy, among others. I wish they'd bring Firefly back too. Probably lots of other good shows out there, but I haven't bothered trying to dicern many of them from the crap.
Books
Ok, I don't read much either. If I'm reading, I'm probably sitting in front of the computer. I'm not proud of it, but that's the way it is. Of the books I have read, I'd probably have to give props to the late Douglas Adams.
By trade, I am a software engineer. In addition to my job at National Instruments working on a cool product called LabVIEW, I've been into pretty much everything computermatized since I was, oh, probably around 12.
I enjoy going out, but usually prefer a smaller gathering at a friend's place. I enjoy board games, card games, movies, music, and bowling, to name a few things. I don't drink that often, but when I do, I've been known to mix a drink or two (I did go to UW-Madison, after all) - my favorite of which is the White Russian. I'm also a big fan of Woodchuck Draft Cider.
I have two dogs and they're really cute. They're Lhasa Apsos, but I keep their hair cut short - I think they're cuter that way. :)
Hm, what else? I play trumpet in a local community band, and sing in my church's music group. I dabble a bit on the piano too. Music is a very important part of my life. I enjoy photography too, but don't spend nearly as much time doing it.
I like to play video games when I have time. I stick mostly to Nintendo Wii and Nintendo DS games. I'll challenge anyone to a game of Tetris. :)
Who I'd like to meet: Nice people who aren't trying to be something for someone else. Just be yourself. Really, I think everything that people do should just be governed by this one simple rule that so many of us know and it often seems so few of us remember: treat other people the way you would want to be treated. No elitism, no hypocracy, no double-standards - if people could just live by the simple golden rule, the world would be a far better place.
Hey there Jeffie! I hope you had an awesome weekend and the pooches are doing well. We'll probably be heading home late tonight. Man, I didn't sleep much this weekend and am in need of a cave. LOL.
