¿Qué es lo que propiamente se introduce ante la presencia del Dios? La respuesta que ofrecemos es: la Duda. Yahvéh duda de Job, de la fuerza y la pureza de su fé y lo pone a prueba. Por segunda ocasión, el Adversario introduce la duda pero en esta ocasión es Dios mismo el que duda. El resultado lleva a Job directamente a la ruina, lo que vuelve al libro uno de los de más problemáticos y de coplejo análisis que puedan encontrarse en el texto bíblico. Lo que distingue al libro de Job de otros textos es precisamente el conjunto de implicaciones teológicas que se derivan de lo que en adelante llamaremos “el enfrentamiento de Dios consigo mismo” (Ha-Satan). Esto es, la propuesta que presentamos se funda en señalar a “la duda” y al enfrentamiento del sí mismo consigo, como el más coherente significado de la palabra hebrea “Ha-Satan”.
