The band was formed in Dec 1994. Released self-financed debut album in Nov 1995. (Received 5 star rating in the Straits Times. Nov 25 1995) Performed at IMM (International Music Market) in Jan 1996. Featured in Dazed and Confused Compilation album in Aug 1996 under Springroll Music Label. (Featured single "Driven" entered the top 5 on airplay 98.7 FM Singapore) Featured in soundtrack of local movie Army Daze. 1996. 2nd album "Erratic" released in Feb 1997 under the PonyCanyon Label. (Received 5 star rating in the Straits Times. Feb 28 1997) (3 tracks from the album entered the top 5 on airplay 98.7 FM Singapore) Performed and represented Singapore at The International Music Festival in the Philippines in Jan 1998. 3rd album “Three” released in Dec 1999. Self-financed. Featured in The Substation's 10 Years and Counting Rock The Garden CD. Provide original music & live performance for Royston Tan's 'Revelations' short film screening at the Substation. 2001 Featured in Designer Magazine's Designer music CD Nov 2002 Featured in soundtrack of local movie City Sharks. 2003 Performed at events like Baybeats 2002, 2005 & 2006 and ZoukOut 2005 4th album “Horizons” released in April 2006. Quotes “They have a lot of naive aggression and a dirty kind of sound, which I think makes them a lot more credible than the other pop acts which seem to be singing just for the sake of singing, with no real point of view." - Malcolm Mclaren, Straits Times, Aug 10 1996 “ Deriving a sound all its own and with little pretension to boot." - X'Ho, Straits Times, Feb 13 1997 Line-up The genesis of this well-regarded veteran outfit can be traced back to one fateful December day in 1994 when junior college-mates Sean and Pann decided to collaborate musically while in National Service. Though their tastes diverged - Pann was a big fan of death metal, and originally from local death metal band, Silent Sorrow, while Sean was into indie and alternative - they had in common a shared passion for music. Concave Scream is one band that prefers to keep things simple, substantial and independent. Having released 4 full length albums to date, Concave Scream has been driving the underground music scene in Singapore for quite some years now and is arguably the granddaddy of indie-metal-hardrock here. Concave Scream is Sean (vocals, guitars), Pann (guitars, vocals), Dean (drums, percussion) and Farizwan (bass). Style Concave Scream’s style is melancholic yet hopeful. Musically, the band believes in moving forward and not stagnating. Therefore, every album sounds distinctly different. Currently, the band is back in the studios writing and working out on new material for their upcoming 5th full length album. .............. ........ -
