   confluence's Blurbs
About me:
The Confluence Collective is a radical community center and collective house dedicated to providing the tools, resources, and space for positive grassroots organizing and community building in grand junction. We are an anti-authoritarian, horizontalist, pro-choice, anti-sexist, anti-racist group. Located in the middle of a red city, in a red county, in a red state, the Confluence is an oasis of radical thinking, people, and ideas in a desert of conservatism. The group of six that would become the Confluence Collective came together in the spring of 05 to work on The Crane Project--organized in commemoration of the 60th anniversary of our country's atomic bombing of Hiroshima. The project was a series of events designed to raise awareness of the effects of the nuclear industry and our region’s role in that industry. Recognizing the need for a radical community center, the group moved in together in August '05 and set out to build one from the ground up. Nearly one year old, the Confluence Collective all ready dedicates meeting space to several local groups such as, the Mesa County Green Party, The Grand Junction Fair Trade Alliance, A Voice Of Reason, The Fun Liberation Front, and Grand Junction Alternative Media; producers of the Red Pill. The Confluence offers a lending library with hundreds of alternative/radical books and videos available to check out, a bike shop with tools available for repairs, and a free store--take what you need, leave what you don’t, basis, DIY blk/wt dark room, and a community garden. An arts/crafts/skills area with learning sessions, and a pirate radio station, may be coming soon. Free Skool to be starting in the fall. The Confluence Collective also hosts Weekly Vegan Dinner every Sunday at 6:30pm. With attendance averaging between 35-50 people, ages 13-80s, it is one of the more popular activities the House provides. When in town, stop by 1450 elm ave. and check out the happenings in grand junction.

it's so sad to hear about the death of confluence collective. from when i met and heard about you guys at the gathering, to the time i spent there with highway child and every time a new issue of the red pill comes out, i appreciate and support what you had put together. community building and education are the only ways we will see positive change in this world and spaces for people to come together are so valuable and important.

although your doors may be shut, i hope that the experience of the house has motivated and inspired everyone as much as it has me.

i love you all and thanks for making a difference!

I have a bunch of research from old news papper archives and biographies I found at the Salt Lake City Library about the murder case of Joe Hill in 1914 I was going to submit. However, I wont have anything untill this evening, right now I am heading out the door to look for work.

I am here and alive in San Antonio. I found a local activist seen and think I will have plenty of activity to keep me bussy. You can read about my adventures on my blog. I hope everyone is doing well.
