Band Members	Pedro Domech - lead vocals and percussion Ulises Beato - conga and vocals Pedro Cruz - bass and vocals Ariacne Trujillo - piano and vocals Dan Blankenship - trumpet Papote Jimenez - bongo and vocals The Godfather and guardian angel of our band is none other than Mr. Alan Hangad himself.
Influences	The pantheon of Cuban folkloric rythms such as those of Yoruba, Palo and Abakua. The legendary artists Beny More, Miguelito Cuni, Sexteto Habanero, Our uncle "El Gato Negro" Felix de Jesus.
Sounds Like	Old style contemporary Cuban music such as "El Guayabero" Faustino Oramas or Miguel Matamoros with a modern tinge of our own. Our original songs retain the authentic Cuban style yet sound modern and new. It’s not Salsa and it’s not Timba. About Conjunto Guantanamo

Conjunto Guantánamo are said to be the ambassadors of Cuban folklore and are quickly becoming popular among the most eclectic mix of Latin music lovers in the Tri-State area. Playing authentic traditional Afro-Cuban rhythms like Son Montuno, Cha-Cha-Cha, Mambo and Rumba with a modern twist of their own, their performances sometimes also delve into extended experimental descargas -- a type of Afro-Cuban improvisational jam session -- using ingredients straight from the streets of Havana and Matanzas as well as some modern day Timba and the very spirit of New York City.
