Connie works and has worked with many gifted musicians in multiple projects.
She is currently heading RAYZ 'N KAYN, a cover/original rock band featuring the talents of Ian Carroll on guitar & back-up vocals, Pete Gutzmirtl on bass and back-ups, and a number of other amazing friends who fill-in from time to time, including Steve Berlen on drums.
Ian & Connie also perform as an acoustic duet, doing both original & cover songs, strangely enough, under the name CONNIE & IAN...LOL...
R.I.P.
"Michael Mindler was an integral part of my original band, Connie's Brigade.
He passed away in Sept. of 2006. He will be missed greatly...I can't imagine having written those songs with anyone other than Mike...he truly was a talented soul."
Influences
All genres of music, but major influences include:
Heart, Pat Benatar, Linda Ronstadt, The Eagles, Fleetwood Mac, Stevie Nicks, Elton John, Billy Joel, Led Zeppelin, Sly & The Family Stone, Carole King, Earth Wind & Fire, ELO, Queen, Kool & The Gang, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, Mary J. Blige, Aretha Franklin, Luther Vandross, The Sugar Hill Gang, Run DMC...shall we continue???
Connie started performing at the age of 5 in an elementary school musical, in her hometown of Vandercook Lake (Jackson), MI. Her first major influence was her paternal grandmother, Alice V Edinger. She played piano and sang for her grandchildren, later leaving her beloved piano to Connie. Her parents, sister, aunts, uncles, cousins, and maternal grandfather were also musicians and dancers, giving her a rich family history in music.
After practically being raised by AM GOLD Radio, Connie began to collect albums of different styles of artists. The Jacksons, Sly & The Family Stone, The Beatles, Heart, Pat Benatar, Jefferson Starship, Boz Scaggs, Queen, Linda Ronstadt, Kool & The Gang, Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, and even The Partridge Family. She performed in her junior high and high school Chorus, Stage Choir, Musicals, and Marching & Stage bands, playing drums and percussion instruments.
In 1989, two years after the birth of her daughter, Connie began taking vocal instruction from Broadway trained performers, Doug & Joan Barber, continuing for 7 years. She gained incredible and invaluable knowledge from the Barber's, and took her newly honed skills and put them to work. She began performing in many local bands and multiple duos to perfect her on stage talents. MAGIK, LUCKY 7, ELECTRIC SLEEVES, PERFECT TOUCH, UP OUR SLEEVES, CONNIES BRIGADE, GOOD TIME CHARLIE, BREAKING UP THE BAND, FREDDY MOREDDY & THE DANCE HALL DOCS, and her latest project, RAYZ 'N KAYN. She recorded her first CD of all original music with CONNIE'S BRIGADE titled, MOTHERS NATURE. She has performed at Bethlehem's
annual Musikfest on numerous occasions, and has also been honored to have
sang the National Anthem on Service Electric Cable TVs THURSDAY NIGHT AT THE FIGHTS for 3 separate events, and for the LEHIGH VALLEY IRON PIGS for 2 games! Today, Connie continues to write and perform her original material.
She has been trying her hand at doing some extra work, and has worked on 5 different FORENSIC FILES episodes, and has done a few commercials.
PPL Electric Utilities, Professor Amos' Shock It Clean, AND...
