Sounds Like
''Like the meeting of The Beach Boys, Air and a bit of Mercury Rev.'' (www.roadrecs.com)
The Irish Times: “Here’s a real Dublin DIY phenomenon: Conor writes, records and plays all his own music, releases it via his own website, then rings the journo up to make sure he got his CD-R copy. Peace of Mind is a lovely, sad piano-painted tune, as is the B-side (titled B Side), so we’ll be looking forward to his call.”
(Kevin Courtney, The Irish Times)
Hot Press: "Swirls and stretches your ears in all directions, a veritable smorgasbord of sonic delights. "So, You Think That You're A Star?" is a real winner, a wholesome slice of mellow alt-rock that builds magnificently. Furlong's voice has a beguiling quatility to it. "Tonight" is impressively funky, with Furlong's voice this time given an impressive choral effect with touches of David Byrne."
(Jackie Hayden, Hot Press)
Metro: "His tunes are a beatific blend of dreamy folk, sunny harmonies and lazy electronica with a psychedelic twist."
Road Records compares him to The Beach Boys, Air and Mercury Rev.
Conor has made an impressive impact on the Dublin circuit with his shows in Whelan's, The Village, Crawdaddy, The Ruby Sessions, Temple Bar Music Centre and two in-store performances in Tower Records being among the highlights.
From 2002-04 Conor worked with the former Pulp/Moloko/Babybird manager who loved his music and worked tirelessly with him.
Everyone who has heard Conor's music remarks how captivating it is. Anyone who loves music will love the music made by Conor Furlong.

Not too bad. I'm becoming a dad for the first time in a month or so and I'll be getting married in August or so. Unfortunately not too much time for making music, but I still have a lifetime ahead of me to do that :-) How's things with you, other than music?
Conor, nice new song. Also "So you think that you're a star" and "You are the one I love" are really good. Your voice somehow reminds me of A-Ha singer Morten Harket. Keep up the good work! Marino
Happy New Year! And sorry I haven't checked in for a while..but thanks for telling me about your new song. Great arrangement, and just the kind of strong melody that I love! Actually, I love that you can vary your style and sound from one song to the next - not many people seem to be able to do that. Good stuff!
Take care, and I hope 2008 brings all happiness and success to you.
