My name is Conrad Slater and I at the moment I self identify as a media artist. I make the occasional video, plus a bit of sound art and even the occasion bit of writing.
I make films but I don't like being called a filmmaker; I usually don't like the kind of people who call themselves filmmakers so I avoid them when I can. Some people can just get too carried away with their interest in technology, can't they!
I'm living in Jersey at the moment; I've no plans to leave. Most of the stuff I do is online and can be made from anywhere in the world. Although I do sometime miss conversations with like minded people. I recently discovered that for medical reason I'm not allowed to drink alcohol anymore so I guess I'd be little use if I were living in a city. Art/Media events are always fuelled by booze these days!
I used to make a video podcast called Spainful Film back in 2006 when podcasting was trendy but it caused me too much stress. Then in 2007 I started youtubepoop.com a website for people making video collages; probably the most successful thing I've done but ultimately far to expensive. That's the trouble with busy websites, they tend to cause server hosting companies to panic and over charge you!
At the moment I like Sherbet Fountains, girls with big bums and the word "ubiquitous". I delete comments that draw attention to themselves but allow small ads to stay.
